  4. Happy Thanksgiving Canada!!! And Petcretary, my mom used to play classical music while she did (college) homework and while she cleaned and consequently raised three sons who love classical music.

      I too, was raised on that...I do not even care for most other music, esp that of 'today'. My mom sang in opera when she was very young, and she was in a semi-professional oratorio society...dad called her his canary!
      I sang in choirs and played the violin for many years...had to stop due to joint issues in my hands and neck:(
      Sons learned piano, the younger drifted away from it very soon...but the older one went through level 10, and earned not a few awards. He also learned the organ and played for church services. Sadly he refuses to do that anymore. At age 31, I only let him know how I feel, but I cannot force him to do these things, he's a grown up and has to live with his conscience...
      Husband played French horn in highschool, and he can sing very well.
