Dalton"s Gotcha Day Selfies

Today is Dalton's Gotcha Day! He came to live with us in 2017, so he's been here nine years now! Sadly we did not know him until he was an adult woofie, which may contribute to the fact that whatever baggage of his former life he still has not completely unloaded...maybe he lost the key...

Anyways he is full of beans, spit and vinegar...silly at times, ready to give a kiss, or to beg a scritch, or to bark at whatever he thinks needs a warning. Unfortunately, he still is fearful of his pawppy, when he is not sitting down...walking down the sidewalk stirs up awful memories in him, and he even raises his hackles at times....or gives a nip to his ankles. Whereas when his pawppy is sitting in a chair, he runs up and almost demands scritches! Pawppy feeds him his food and treats...who knows what goes on in his wee doggy mind. At least he has a good forever home with us, since being gotted.

And we love him, he with the huge ears, the almost constant wagging of that wee stump of a tail, and the permanent formal tuxedo that he wears! He loves his way bigger than him little brother, Benji, and they play well together, wrassling, chasing or doing zoomies in the yard...and to the annoyance of petcretary, digging big holes as they try to catch varmints in the yard, especially moles...sheesh, they damage more with their digging than the moles make with their trails and breathing holes...BOL!

Anyways, Petcretary made this card for him, celebrating his Gotcha Day, the first day of the rest of his life! And also celebrating the fall season!

This is the wee pup that Petcretary saw one day in 2017, as she went into the pet shop to get  something for MJF who was still with us back then.

Getting a scritch and a giving a paw in thanks.

I love you, Benji! Here  is a kiss! Thanks for coming to live here, too, my very own little brother! (Even if you are almost twice my size, BOL!)
