In Memory of Kessy

A few days ago we read this post from   inhannover in which we found out that dear Kessy suddenly left for the RB. So sad, and so close to the holidays, making it doubly sad...(The post is in German, so most of you will have to put it into a translator...but English replies are fine...)

We made this memento in her honor...

Kessy

We are sure she would love to hear from anyone with kind words of sympathy and condolences. We are sure her Merlin, her Birman senior kitty must be a lonely fellow now...

Fly free, Kessy, you will be loved and cherished forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved you.

We are joining the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop, because we are thankful that we can make these mementos for others, with petcretary's help; we have some ourselves and its comforting to know how much others DO care.

Happy Christmas!!

Here are some selfies, similar to what that we used to make that card...

Thanks, Pam and Teddy for this addition to Petcretary's 'Tambour' collection!

A flashback greeting from our Angels Pipo, Minko and MJF

This is not our yard, but it could be...Brrr, we are still in storm mode, as of this time of publishing, we are not sure if we can go to church to celebrate the true reason for Christmas as the roads were still  nasty.

Merry Christmas Sunday Selfies Blog Hop is here!

In Loving Memory...Chester and Nuisy

Last week, Chester, from the Daily Bone graduated to the realms of all the angels and his furblings who went there earlier...living now at the Rainbow Bridge. He will be sorely missed by his loving family, and of course all of us in Blogville! He was well known for his reports on the goings on at his home and those of his family members. We sure hope the squirrels don't take over the yard there, now that he isn't there to chase them anymore. We'll miss the nature reports and the fine pics that he always showed us.

Fly Free, Chester, You will always be held close in our hearts.

Chester

And yet another kitty left for the RB at Ms Lulu's home, (Ebby and Ceely's Mom from Dogster Days)...the third one. How very sad and heartbreaking.

Nuisy was  a beautiful black kitty. She was 12 years old.

Nuisy

We are in the middle of this bad winter storm/blizzard that has traffic snarled and Christmas travel all messed up. Perfect timing...NOT!

So we are putting our family Christmas celebration on hold…we’ll do it a few days later, on account of that we cancelled the ‘doings’ on Saturday…the weather is making the roads too treacherous till later on Sunday…a three day storm, petcretary has to work on Christmas Day, and so we’ll try for Monday.
(The temp was about 35F this afternoon (Thursday), and at this time (Friday am), its about 16F…snow is blowing everywhere…wind chills could get to -25F) (Update...when I got up earlier today, it was 4F!!)
Sorry if you missed me visiting...I am way behind…in visiting/commenting...even my chores, LOL! Everything sort of happened all at once around here…and then I even got to have confuser troubles, (Though at least I didn’t need a new one…yet…)…as if life itself wasn’t enough! Maybe by New Year's it might ease up around here...

Dalton & Benji:

*She* even missed our doggy cousin Edie's birthday! Sheesh!

Here he is, on his close to Christmastime B'day!

Eddie

Eddie

My brother was just diagnosed with melanoma, and had surgery for that, to see if it had spread...so that is an added worry...Pawppy seems to be OK, thankfully, though he has a lot of issues with mobility...and I am still his taxi service, which of course is yet another reason I get behind...

Well, in  two days it will be Christmas!! We wish you all the very best of celebrations, and safety if you have to go anywhere.

Merry Christmas!
I am joining up with the Feline Friday Blog hop, for Nuisy...but Chester has/had kitty cousins, so...

Feline Friday...click to go there!

Let's Destroy The Drainpipe...There's A Squirrel In There!

Yup, indeed.

But first we want to say that we are very behind in visiting most of our friends...our... petcretary has been busy with all kinds of not doggy things..but it seems like this happens a lot around the holidays. Bear with us, and we'll try to come by when we can. We love you all and we have not forgotten you!

Pawppy and petcretary heard a strange noise coming from outside a few minutes after Dalton & Benji scrambled in a big rush to get outside to chase a squirrel away. So Pawppy and petcretary went to the window to see what the noise was...and OMD, us pups had the drainpipe/downspout off the smaller pipe that holds it in place...and we had it away from where it usually stays, and also had bumped the whole mooring system apart. (We have long drainpipes too keep water out of our cellar)...and Dalton was biting the middle of it! Yikes! Evidently the squirrel went into the drainpipe opening to hide...little did he know that terriers DO Not give up...(later she saw that there were several holes in the middle of that pipe, ..clearly from teeth!)

Dalton was clearly in charge of whatever they were doing, LOL!

So petcretary went to the shed, to got out a spare pipe piece, and when she opened the doors, she spooked a squirrel, which actually had fist spooked her, LOL! Just one reason why we built a new one this past summer...anyways that little dude didn't know how to escape, so she just took the pipe and closed the doors up again...

Then she went to where we were jumping and barking and biting on and all around the pipe...Dalton even stuck his little pointy schnooter right into the open pipe ends. As if he wanted to take a peek into it. BOL!

So she took a few pictures and un-posed selfies...not the best focus though...

Then she took that pipe away from us...and we were jumping all around her,snapping our jaws in anticipation, and we were quite anxious to have at it again. She tipped it upright and gave it a few bangs to try and make the squirrel come out...nope, he was clinging to the inside of it for dear life! So she swung it like a baseball bat, and sure enough that forced  the little dude to fall out. He hit the ground running, and Dalton and Benji were hard on its heels...they almost had it, just as it got to a tree by the back shed and that was that! They jumped and snapped in efforts to get at him, to no avail...then they sat down to wait for him to come down. Sorry boys, red squirrels are not that dumb, in fact they are pretty smart, and I hope he stays out of the newer downspout-pipe!

Benji I need your help... got this pipe off the holder and those other anchors...now we have to get him out of this pipe...

Help me Benji...remember about teamwork??!

I wonder if  I give hm the squeeze, will that make him come out?

Come out, please Mr Squirrel, we have to teach you to keep you away from the bird seed!

Maybe he went to the other end, Benji! Lets go look.
We can sniff that squirrel...so tantalizing!
If we work together we might get him out of there...
Benji, I tell you, I SAW him go in here!
I know you're in there, dude!

My sort of selfie, as I keep smelling and willing  that squirrel to come out so I can chase him.

Waiting and hoping for that squirrel to come out!

 Last Saturday evening, after we went to see Santa, Pawwpy and petcretary went to a concert...when they got there, Santa was sitting in the lobby..he obliged several peeps to take pictures with him...so they too had a turn...though no, they did NOT sit on his lap. BOL!

Once again, yet another kitty went to live with her angel furblings at the RB...

And even though she very recently lost Raven, on the 15th, it was Diamond who gained her Angel wings.
Lulu G , known to former Dogster peeps as the mom of Ceely and Ebby, doesn't have a blog, but she does have a Facebook page:

Lulu G (Diamond)

This is a memento made in Diamond's honor.

We are hopping along with many other Sunday Selfies from friends in Blogville and guests, too. Thanks Kitties Blue for being our hosts!

We saw Santa!

 Yes we sure did!!

Om Friday, our pawrents went on an errand, and when they came back, Petcretary bundled us up in our fancy festive sweaters and off we went...in a terrible snow squall, that had the roads in an atrocious state. *she* almost turned back...but she persevered and crawled along, taking 30 minutes to do the 8 or so miles...saw two accidents...and avoided another herself. Yikes!Must have been the white stuff was coming to enhance the Santa effects! BOL!

Anyways, finally we got to go into our favorite pet shop, where the manager is very friendly and always helpful. The fee for a Santa picture session was a donation to Companion Cats, which was having a concurrent adoption affair...we even got to sniff a couple of the kittens! There were several there, and petcretary had too tell herself NO, else there would be even more chaos in our den...BOL! Later she saw that a few of them had been adopted and even more found forever happiness on Saturday at their regular location. And while we were waiting for Santa to come in the room...we saw more cats, they were in fancy Christmas dresses! We heard *her* say awww! Well, ,we neededd some awws, to we woofed!

Actually we were very quiet in there and did not woof at all...but we did try to leave some typical doggy mail/messages...Oopsie!

Finally HE showed up! HoHoHo!

When we came home from our Santa visit, it was almost dark, but petcretary managed to get a couple of pictures of us not being impressed by the heavy wet snow...*she* adjusted the lighting for these so you can actually see us, BOL!

Yup, I tasted some of this cold wetness!

Are you done yet? We want to go inside!

Also, please forgive petcretary for missing so many posts/visits lately. It was all she could do to visit a few, and do her postings. This holiday season is also a very busy one! LOL!

On Friday the 9th, it was also Christmas Card Day...but we usually do not post except on Sundays...so here is our card now. If you didn't get one in your inbox, feel free to snag it now!

This past Tuesday, petcretary volunteered the Teaser picture for Professor Teddy to use...but nobody was able to guess it, Everyone was stumped!BOL!

It was a picture of Phuket, on Phuket Island in Thailand, that petcretary's cousins had taken while on a trip there, to help their adopted son (now an adult), to reconnect with his roots.

She was also a 'firstie' into the classroom to find out how all the students would do with that image.

                                                                                            ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sadly, Harley, from Three Chatty Cats went to be an Angel at the RB, recently.
We made this memento in his honor.
Harley
