Snow, Ice And Doggies!

 What a week!

We had a lot of not too cold weather, and a lot of the old snow melted away, including the huge ice dam mess on the north side of our house...which came down in big chunks, each one sounding like an explosion, so us pups had to go out and bark at the 'intruder', BOL! The peeps say they've tried three times to get the attic insulated, even once when the whole thing was open to the air for a whole new roof...but somehow either the workers can't get at part of the attic, or there just isn't enough of it, so they go out with a roof rake when there is more than say 3 -4 inches of new snow...and to knock down the icicles as they form...ah the joys of an old house...(1907)

Anyways, we did have a nice day on Thursday with lots of sun and blue sky which melted even more snow and ice, the driveway and sidewalk was clear...but wow, was it WINDY! lots of branches down in the yard, a lot of spring cleanup is in our future, BOL!

And then on Friday it was 38F and pouring rain! All day, well into the afternoon. We were glad that wasn't snow...but...um...petcretary left for her work about 130pm, and while she was there it started to become freezing rain...which turned to huge snowflakes...and the temp went down in a hurry to 24F. And of course she left her boots and gloves at home...oops. The forecasted weather did not include snow and ice until into the night, and not the three inches that fell.

Anyways, because it had so much moisture in tit and with the freezing rain, everything outsaide looked like a Christmas card!

The walnut and maple trees around the grounds where petcretary works looked like ice crusted ghostly apparitions...

Her car looked like an encrusted red sculpture:
That is more ice than snow, it took a lot of elbow grease to clean it up so she could drive home.
Saturday it was partly cloudy, so some snow on all the trees and things fell off, but it stayed cold, just below freezing. Petcretary shoveled the top layer of snow off all the ice, but will have to wait for the thick ice to melt on its own...or with some salt/sand applications.

She captured some flower heads with icy snow caps on them...they look messy in the garden area, filled with all those seed heads, but she leaves them till spring to let hungry birds enjoy them...and likely some other critters, too.

Well, Benji seems to not mind the snowy yard nearly as much as Dalton, maybe because he has more fur and longer legs! But cold is cold and icy paths are not too much fun either...so
Benji:I really want Rose to come out to play fence games, but she's not there...so here I am sitting on the edge of the patio, glad that it's been sort of cleared, but the deep stuff is still covering the grass...sheesh!
Dalton: I've done my doggy stuff outside and bravely watched petcretary shovel our sidewalk as best she could, so now I'm enjoying a nice nap; pardon all my shed terrier furs! (the white ones are mine...)

Random Sunday Selfies

This was quite a snowy week, and very COLD at least on Mon, Tues and Wednesday. It feels almost warm at 32F!! And there was snow almost every day till Friday. Saturday was good too, but when Petcrtetary came home from her work, at 11pm. it was snowing hard, sticking to the road and almost a whiteout, Yikes. Here we go again!

Since Petcretary is working this weekend,  she hunted through our most recent images and found these to show off ourselves.

Benji, getting some love and scritches...

Dalton is telling everyone, *This* is MY bone!! (Sorry not the best picture, rather blurry...)

Dalton: "I think I picked up a Benji hair when I started chewing this bone!" Phlbbbtthh! BOL!!!
We are hopping along with all the other Sunday Selfies, at The Cat On my Head, Our weekly hosts! Thanks so much for being our hosts each and every week!

Time For Sunday Selfies

Well, we had a bit of a thaw, this past week...but now the weather soothsayers tell us we are going into the deep freeze for a while, we might even have lows below 0F! Brrr

At least we are thankful to have a nice cozy house to come back into after we do our outside necessities!

Not too much going on here otherwise. Boring can be good, right??
Last week we showed you a picture of Benji hogging Dalton's bed...Dalton got the best of Benji a little while later...BOL!
He didn't move over so I climbed over top, Ahh, nice and warm, BOL!! Did he move away? not for a good long time...sheesh!

Ahhh, that bed was comfy while it lasted...I guess I need to get on my own bed(Which is the same, but in a different spot)
*She* changed this not too good image of me into a black and white one and it looks so much better I was told!
This is the same image as you saw last week, but now turned into B&W! I think it looks better, how about you?!

I am sending ear signals to whomever can interpret them, BOL!

No flash, but the iPhone camera can really make the picture look good in the shadows, (my bed is under a table), and in lamplight.

I was right with my guess at Teddy's Tuesday Teaser, but not first...however there is still always a badge for that, LOL!

We have joined up at The Cat On My Head to be in the Sunday Selfies Blog-hop! Why not come and join up, too, it's a lot of fun! Everyone is welcome!

Snowtime! Camera Playtime...or what happens on cold snowy evenings!

We've had a fair bit of snow over the past week, though a lot less than the folks in some of the southern states. We pups and our peeps are not complaining, BOL!
Petcretary, I'm glad you are home, I was hoping you could clean away all this snow.

It may be snowy, but we are still enjoying our through the fence games with Rose.

Later that evening Benji took over my usual nesting spot, and barely left  any room for me...sheesh!

Then pectretary started to play with some of the settings on he iPhone camera...this is a portrait mode and she played with the light and the depth of field...but I just wasn't very amused, BOL!!

This is another portrait mode, with different settings than used for Dalton.Ho hum I was bored...BOL!

Both taken in the natural lamp light without use of flash! Benji was focused on his right eye, Dalton was focused between his eyes. I was amazed how the camera 'enhanced' Benji's white /grey furs on his schnooter!

I, Petcretary was a first commenter at Teddy's Teaser Tuesday 'geography class', and also a right guesser, though not first!I got these to badges for my efforts:
