Whetting the Appetite for Valentine's Day Fun

First of all, thanks for all the POTP , Get Well wishes, and healing thoughts for Petcretary. While she remains positive at last check for the evil Covid virus, she is feeling better, though she still coughs a lot.

She can't go back to work at least till the 16th, but not sure what happens then if she is still positive...long term care places have too many vulnerable residents to risk getting infected:(

Anyways, Tuesday is Valentine's Day! The day of love and romance.

Us pups don't have much romance in us, though, BOL!! But we do love our petcretary and pawppy! (Though sometimes Dalton still tries to bark pawppy away...what a silly dude.)

It is also the day that Angels Pipo and Minko were 'gotted'! How cool is that, forever love on the day of love. And when petcretary got to thinking, it was early in Feb, of 1988, that Groucho arrived, so he got to spend his first Valentine's Day with his new family a few days after his being gotted!

A fave of Petcretary...Angel Minko was such a nosey parker, and loved to be in the action if MJF was in it. It looks like he's giving a kiss along with advice about taking pictures for Valentine's Day, LOL! (ca. 2010 or 11)

New Angels ~ Let Us Show Kindness To Their Family.

 Well, I was not expecting to have a real challenge of kindness today, but a member of a FaceBook group I am in posted tthere about the recent loss of two of her precious kitties.

 Some of us bloggers may remember them from our Catster days.

So Flossie, sister of Freddie, who was an angel long ago already went to be with her twin brother...and also the same family lost Wilf, a rescue kitty from their neighborhood,

While  I rarely post things in that group - (Caster Buddies), I do watch the doings there several times a month, and today I got that notification...so of course I got to 'work'

They do not have a blog, and I have no way to contact the lady, sadly enough, except through that FB group., which is also a private group...sigh...so you can try to access that link I provided, but it may come up unavailable.

Anyways here are the mementos I made in their honor.

Meanwhile, on Saturday night petcretary started to feel sick...and it became much worse over the rest of the weekend...so she got herself tested for Covid at her workplace...and you betcha, it was positive. Yikes!

So now she is quarantined for a few days..till the 15th. She will miss some work days, too...sigh...

She has a cough and sometimes sounds like us pups, BOL! She had a low grade fever chills and a sore throat. So far she can still taste and smell. Hopefully it won't get worse, but  will clear up quickly. POTP to our Petcretary!

Well, its not quite wordless, but we are joining that bloghop anyways, BOL!

 Wow, the week just flew by and here we are again, with Selfie Sunday!

It is Pet Dental Month, and our Angel MJF has an old flashback selfie to show you all, it was taken in 2010! Eons ago! He was a dude who had a lot of fun with posing...our present pups are not so much into that sort of thing, BOL!

Petcretary had to make herself an avatar for a website she uses in her work, so here it is...its sort of silly, which goes along with her philosophy of making her residents laugh...so we all can have a good day.

Well, we've been inside a lot, its has been very cold, with near zero F temps at night, and it's about 10F here right now...with a good breeze to make things feel colder. Brrr! But the glorious sun has been showing up each day, since Groundhog Day on the 2nd...that silly rodent said we'll have 6 more weeks of winter, and we think he might just have been right this year, BOL! But we'll take the sun, it makes nice sunpuddles to warm ourselves in.

In Memory of Jakey

A few days ago, Jakey from The LLB Gang  became a New Angel at the RB, By now he must have met up with all his furblings who were there before him...young and healthy again, as are all the RB Angels.

Sweet and precious Jakey was almost 17 years old. Just imagine all the wonderful memories he has made,  that now his parents can cherish, and keep close in their hearts. Even so he will be greatly missed, by both his family and all of Blogville, he was well known and loved by all.

Flashbacks from Warmer Times!

 Petcretary is working so we are doing a flashback...to a nice warm summertime day, BOL!

We had a lot of snow, starting this past Wednesday, and more came down each day after that...we are getting our comeuppance from all the non-wintry days we had  after that big Christmastime storm...sigh...We hope these kinds of days will return really soon! Maybe that groundhog will help us out later this week, BOL!! Right now as this is posting, we are under a winter weather advisory...we might get snow and freezing rain...Blech! Later in the week we will get very cold with the daytime temps in the low teens...Brrr!

Early Spring 2019, Benji was still a puppy, and still had a lot of growing to do! It was his first spring!

Here is another fun GIF petcretary made of one of the Sandhill cranes that frequent the grounds, (where she works), from spring through early fall. This was a youngster, and he was 'attacking' a fallen tree branch!! It was fun to watch in real life...

 

 

Sadly, earlier, last week, Emmy from 15&Meowing became an Angel Kitty. Her memorial post is here.

 

 And while we are black and white such as are tuxies, we are not cats, and none of us Angel Meezers was a tuxie, either, MOL! Today IS Tuxie Catt Appreciation day...why is that special?? Well there are/were four of them at The Cat On My Head,  our hosts for the Sunday Selfies!

Dear sweet and precious Emmy from 15&Meowing has graduated to the heavenly realms at the Rainbow Bridge. What a beautiful new Angel.

Our sympathy and condolences are with her family today.
