Thank you all for the pawyers, purrs, woofs wags and POTP. Dalton is a lot better the past couple of days. Not 100% but still, it is good to see him eating somewhat on his own, and he was even playing with Benji on Saturday afternoon. He still will not eat his regular food, (Freeze dried coated kibble with freeze dried 'patties' crumbled over that), and he disdains the treats he used to gobble up excitedly. But he scarfed down a few bowls of so called doggy junk food by himself, which I guess is better than not eating at all. It was pate food. He also took some crunchy treats.
Saturday he got a bowl of more proper wet food, which was slices in gravy, with a few veggies mixed in, he ate it all up and licked the bowl clean. However my timing was bad...
We went away for about 2 1/2 hours to have dinner with our sons...when we got back the dogs were excited to see us...but...um...near the front door, (which they never use to go outside), there were all kinds of pees...it seemed to me judging by the other marks on the carpet that those two had been playing excitedly and one or the other took a whizz and then the over marking began, which is what they do outside a lot...Dalton and Benji do drink a lot, because several weeks ago we got a big stainless steel fountain for them, which it seems they are drinking about 4 - 5 cups a day between them.
So out came the towels and the urine remover for the carpet stains...note to self...do not feed before going away...oops! I do not think it was incontinence on Dalton's part, because of the placement of the spots. The incontinence was happening where he likes to lay. These were in the main area...far away from the door they use to go in & out. We will see what happens today when we have to leave for three hours to attend our church service. Maybe we need to corral them in the carpetless kitchen.
Anyways, last week Saturday we had attended a Dogust party at our local petshop. So our selfies today are from that outing. Dalton had on his birthday bandana, and they both got pawrty hats for a photo op.

DeleteWe are very happy that Dalton is doing better and that he keeps improving. Sometimes our kids just get tired of the same menu day after day and need a little change. So sorry to hear about the pee wars. We have been there, and it is always an ordeal to get everything cleaned up. Thanks for hopping with us! ReplyDeleteWe think he either got into something bad, or found something poisonous, due to a lot of his symptoms seemed to be neurological...trembling, incontinence, lethargy, and he didn't look right in his eyes...all almost at least 90 % better. He ate two meals of proper food today. Of v=course he's keeping it all a big secret...
DeleteMe alegro mucho de que Dalton haya mejorado. Él y Benji están divinos. Besitos desde España
ReplyDeleteReally cute pics today, and we're thrilled Dalton is doing better!!! Sorry about PEE-Fest, not fun at all... Smooch used to be known as the Phantom Widdler here at BBHQ, until he finally got his mental mojo back. Happy Monday!!! 😻✨🐾✨😻
ReplyDeleteJava Bean: "Ayyy, it sure sounds like you boys had a fun time while your Mom and Dad were gone! Maybe a little too much fun ... But we're glad you're feeling better, Dalton!"
ReplyDeleteLulu: "Yes we are! And you boys both look very handsome in your party hats!"
Glad to hear Dalton is feeling a bit better. Bummer about the accidents and hope it was just a timing issue. We'll continue to send more healing energy his way. Happy barkday, sweet boy!
ReplyDeleteGood news on eating something even if not the normal and OH NO on the pee Fun... Hope when you got home from church it was not to a wet kitchen. Prayers for healing for Dalton and for all of you and you wait and see.. Beau seems to be going down hill, he had another sick spell, with 4 throwups. We know something is wrong, he is also about to turn 13, and vet thinks something in digestive system, we are treating for ulcers for just in case. His hind end is giving out, fell twice. he is walking much slower, and we had to shorten from a mile to 3/4 of mile. that could be because of triple digit heat. I hope so
ReplyDeleteAwww, sending a load of POTP for Beau.
DeleteWe have not had any more 'pee events' thus far...
Hi hi hi! Ojo here! Dalton, we are glad you are feeling mostly better! Also, that looks like a fun outing! How many treats did you get?!?
