First of all, we want to say we are not responsible for the silliness you will see a bit later...we blame petcretary for spying on us, BOL! Also we are sorry if we missed visiting any of our friends this past week...*she* was busy with a lot of not doggy things. But all is well with us all, so that is good!
Petcretary captured this beautiful seed head of a Dandelion. This lowly weed so brightly colored, already early in spring, has the most gorgeous and symmetrical seed head, before any winds come by to disperse the seeds on their eddies.
A year ago we had a tornado pass through very close to where we live, and THIS was the resulting horrific mess we had in our yard...click here to see it. Now after much work, it looks like this, the fence got fixed and most of the tree trunks except for the largest ones are gone or made into 'piles' ready to eventually burn.Tomorrow is Victoria Day in Canada, it is always the week before Memorial Day...Since petcretary is Canadian which means we pups are too, being her 'children'...here are some Victoria Day Flashbacks, from 2021:OK, then, here are our silly ussies as promised"

ReplyDeleteI love your pics of plotting mischief! The yard looks amazing, a lot to look after, but all credit to Petcretary for sticking at it. Happy Victoria Day!!! Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx
You two know how to have so much fun. And you look great with your red bandanas. Happy Victoria Day to all of our friends in canada. We know all about the nasty honeysuckle bushes. And the multi flora of bushes. They're a mess to try to clean up and keep away. But we like the idea that you've got me apples and Jack and the pulpit! Happy Sunday
ReplyDeleteYour Petcretary has worked very hard to tidy up your yard, we're solely not to have tornados here in the UK. Wishing you a great Victoria Day xxx
ReplyDeleteGreat photos of you 2 :-D Blow it and make a wish :-D
ReplyDeleteWhat a fantastic dandelion shot!
ReplyDeleteYour Petcretary must have worked furry, furry hard to clear up all the mess left by that terrible tornado!
We love your silly selfies, dear woofies.
Happy Victoria Day to you!
Happy Victoria Day. We love your Ussies!
ReplyDeleteThe non-natives are very, VERY good at invading; we applaud your work to get rid of them.
ReplyDeleteWhere we are, if we threw a stone hard enough, we'd hit Canada!
Hahaha, just kidding, but we gaze upon our fair neighbors with fair regularity, across Lake St. Clair or The Detroit River.
Therefore, we are happy to wish all Canadians a Happy Victoria Day!
Cleaning up that yard was a lot of work! You two are so cute in your ussies. Happy Victoria Day!
ReplyDeleteYour yard looks wonderful but it took a whole year of very hard work for Petcretary! Love your ussies, Dalton and Benji and Happy Victoria Day!

Guys, as always mew are looking epic! The garden is looking furbulous, well done on the big clean up, and the dandelion is meautiful, we leave them here in our garden, they are so special! Happy Sunday and Victoria Day!!! 🐾😸🐾
ReplyDeleteOOh you two!! You do make me laugh!! I am sorry the ground recovery will take so long but, with patience I hope you get the good stuff back.
ReplyDeleteLooking great, cuties! Happy Victoria Day!
ReplyDeleteVery nice selfies from both of you. You had a lot of damage. Happy Victoria Day! XO
ReplyDeleteI like your selfies and the dandelion. Yard work is the neverending story, isn’t it.
ReplyDeletea happy victoria day to you and to all who celebrate the best queen this world ever had...
ReplyDeleteMy goodness...your Petcretary worked extremely hard clearing up all that tornado debris. Quite remarkable! Let's hope there are no extreme storms this year. Lovely usies. Have a happy Victoria Day! 🇨🇦
ReplyDeleteHappy Victoria Day!!! Petcretary certainly has been busy clearing up after that tornado. We love dandelions. Mom did some research and found some native Mississippi honeysuckle to plant here ironically the non native honeysuckle we have here seems to grow better. And the invasive popcorn trees are threatening to take over.
ReplyDeleteJava Bean: "Ayyy, we can tell you two were having a good time together! At least when you weren't having to pose for pictures!"
ReplyDeleteLulu: "Our Mama and Dada had invasive wild roses growing at their house back in New York and Dada says those things were the toughest plants in the world to get rid of! Unlike the tame roses we have here which shrivel up if you look at them sideways ..."
Please tell petcretary that I love how her mind's eye sees beauty in the everyday things.
ReplyDeleteI don't think I have ever looked at a dandelion that closely. Gorgeous
Happy Canada Day and I love your bandanas
Hugs cecilia
