Selfies During The Bad Weather

It's been quite a bit warmer this past week, so now our snowdrops are out and blooming.

These snowdrops were coming up, while it was still quite cold, so not flowering here as yet.

Now they are flowering, so pretty and delicate. They are always the first blooming flowers of early spring in our yard.

But all this way too warm weather for early March, brought unstable air masses and severe weather.

Yes, folks, we had terrible weather in the southwest corner of our state, on Friday evening. There were tornadoes, 4 deaths, and lots of injuries, and so many homes and businesses either destroyed or badly damaged. trees and debris everywhere. All this about 30 or so miles to the southwest of us.Too close for comfort. We had buckets of rain such that now we are under a flood watch, and there are new ponds everywhere...until the water soaks back in. Of course any ducks and the like will love the extra space! See, there is always a good side to the bad!

And we know our state was not the only one with tornadoes and wicked weather, so we pray that all affected will be able to find shelter and be able to start over after the cleanups. Our hearts and thoughts are with all affected by the wrath of all this horrible weather.

Anyways, I, Benji, was rather scared of all the noise outside, and came to beg petcretary for some loving scritches. Dalton too was not the happiest of campers either, though since he was outside in hurricane weather when he was rescued all those years ago, he seems unflapped by bad weather, if it isn't right overhead. He just mostly stayed in his bed by petcretary's desk.

Afterwards on Saturday morning, *she* perused the backwoods area and determined nothing big came down in this series of storms. Phew!

So here are our selfies for this week:

Benji, leaning on Petcretary, begging for loving, calming scritches...
Yes, this feels SO good!
Dalton, when he was trying on a new harness, hopefully one that will help against pulling, and one that he cannot slip out of...yup, he did that once with another harness when we were at the pet shop a few months ago...
And why did our peeps have to disturb our beautyrest so early this morning??? Oh, they said something about messing with the clocks happened...Phooey!

We are joined up with all the other Sunday Selfies at The Cat On My Head. Thanks, Kitties Blue for being the bestest of hosts!

  1. Spring change of clocks has come quickly. Not hear yet though but I guess the flights take longer to UK.
Glad you are all OK, and we send good thoughts to those elsewhere who have not been so lucky.
My, that is a lovely looking new harness; does it have pockets??
Have a wonderful, duck and treat filled week

  2. Tornados are so destructive and we're so sorry for those who lost so much. Great selfies, guys, and we hope your new harness works wonders for you, Dalton!

  3. When big boy and Beau start to pull, I put them on short leash right by my side. they were/are half my weight, so have to. you might try that with Dalton, my leash has a short handle and a long one.. they find it difficult to pull on the short.
I wish Benji would give Beau some lessons on how to look at the camera... he turns his head the minute I pick up my phone... I am so glad you are all safe and sound and we did see all the devastation the storms caused..

  4. I've seen a few snow drops around here blooming. The first signs of our spring also. I'm so glad you are safe and didn't lose any more trees in your yard or worse. These early spring tornadoes are just so much more unexpected. Dalton looks great in his new harness.

What a shame about all that nasty weather... glad there wasn't any more tree damage to have be dealt with... Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx
