Yup, we got a BIG new soft mat...we love it!
Even folded in half it's big enough for both of us...let's hope it lasts...and no one digs his nest into it too vigorously, or chews it...
 |
| Wow, this mat is HUGE! |
 |
| Even for me, it's large! |
 |
| And we can snuggle together and there is still room to stretch out! (Benji is wearing an electronic anti tick device on his collar, in case you were wondering...) |
Petcretary apologizes for being remiss in letting us 'go visiting'...she gets a few in each day, but if she would try to let us see all of our friends, we'd be up for 24 hours or more! We haven't forgotten any of you, we just know *she* is busy with all that tree stuff, her work, the regualr chores and so on...
 |
| These trunks and limbs were cut away, so now petcretary and us, well we can get through back there without bonking our heads. This area is where she thinks the poison ivy 'got her'... |
 |
| This was a huge wood pile, from a lot of the smaller limbs and brush... |
 |
| It burned for a long time, and now it's just a small bump in the yard...all black and sooty! |
There are about 10 more of these piles to burn away, before the area will be clear enough to let the big bosses in with their large saws...way bigger than ours...(a 12 inch battery powered mini chainsaw)...and then after that we'll get the fence fixed. *She* wanted to do more burning yesterday, but firstly, it was 90+ degreesF, and secondly, it was way too windy to have a fire of that size...yikes..we don't need a forest wild fire here!
If you have any desire for a weenie roast or the ingredients for S'mores....we'll help you nosh them if you come when the next fires happen...who knows when that will be, with the long range forecast, not being too favorable for that kind of thing...
Oh, dear...Yesterday was National Selfie Day...well, we hardly ever post on that day so our Ussie will have to do for us! Petcretary didn't even do a selfie for her work. there was contest going on there and the residents were going to vote for the selfie they like the best, Well, maybe next year, BOL!

ReplyDeleteCrikey, yeah, with the heatwave that is even hitting us here in the Bonny Land, there are fire bans. But think of all the lovely bonfires you fan have in the autumn......... Your new mat looks lush. Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx
Your new mat looks lovely and soft, and the perfect place for your selfies. It has been very hot and humid here too, but today the temperature has a big drop, and even a few spots of rain.
ReplyDeletePetcretary has been very busy clearing the results of the storm.
What a wonderful new mat and mom wants to know how your electronic anti tick device is working. That's a huge job that Petcretary is working on and we know she'll be glad when it's behind her.
ReplyDeleteWe are so good that you got a great big nice thick mat that you can both share. That's marvelous. In the backyard clean up is in the works. There's just too much work to be done at home and obviously on the job. We will see you soon and have a good week.
ReplyDeleteYou two look happy with your new mat. That sure is a huge bon fire you were having.
ReplyDeleteThe aftermath is always difficult for anyone who hasn't been through one to understand.
ReplyDeleteThere is so much work to do.
And yes, it's hotter than hot here, and will get even hotter in the next few days, so all outside activities are on hold for us until after midweek. *sigh*
Lulu: "Burn, baby, burn, disco inferno!"
ReplyDeleteCharlee: "What?"
Lulu: "I don't know, Dada said I had to say it."
Java Bean: "Ayyy, that mat does look very nice, and definitely big enough for two!"
Chaplin: "Looks perfect for making muffins on, if you're the muffin-making type."
Java Bean: "In other words, not a dog."

ReplyDeleteWoos - Misty and Timber
That is a nice bed. Very cute selfies and ussies. My hubby burns a big pile like that every year, but our town doesn't allow it after 4/30. He cooks baked potatoes in the ashes when he is done. XO
ReplyDeleteThat's a pawsome new mat!
ReplyDeleteWOW, Petcretary sure has been busy. Love your selfies and your new mat!
ReplyDeleteDon't worry about visiting. Life and getting organised can be important AND new blankets!
ReplyDeleteThat is a great mat and a terrific spot to watch the fire from
ReplyDeletea mat for two is so super!!! we hear ya for the wood stuff... we are not out of the wood either at this topic...
ReplyDeleteS'mores ... did someone say s'mores ...? Be ready, mine Mommy is on the way over ...and me, well, meow, looks like there might be room on the cozy mat for one more, can you handle a kitty there?
ReplyDeleteNo worries Dear ones...we are happy to see you whenever you come by. What a terrible mess on your fence.
ReplyDeleteTell Petcretary to stay hydrated.
Oh and you can never have too many soft mats
Hugs cecilia
Holy cow...we had no idea the damage was so extensive. Goodness...that's a lot of wood to burn. We hope your cleanup goes according to plan. And what a nice new soft mat. Wilson says add a pillow or three and he'll join you! Tell your petcretary not to work too hard especially with the heat being so hot this week. Stay safe, well and hydrated.
