Wow, it seems that the year has gone by so fast, that we just recently posted for Memorial Day in 2024!
Anyways, tomorrow is Memorial Day, and Petcretary has to take her turn to work the holiday...which means she will have off on July 4th!
She didn't have a chance to help us make make any new patriotic selfies...so today we'll post a few flashback ones for this time of the yearl
Memorial Day:
A day set aside to be solemn and to think on the sacrifices of so many for the freedoms we sometimes take for granted.

| Fort Custer National Cemetery. With all those flags, 'planted' by many volunteers, it is an awesome sight. And there are many others of these national cemeteries scattered over the country...yes and even around the world...all those who gave all, lay there and they deserve our thanks, even posthumously...this cemetery is not too far from where we live, and there will be ceremonies there this whole weekend. |

One of our local cemeteries has been vandalized lately, but the VFW is still putting out hundreds of flags there for this weekend. We can only hope the vicious hoomans who have done the damage, leave all alone for the holiday.
