What Happens Here On A Winter Stormy Day

We are/were under a winter storm warning. Lots of wind, rain turning to sleet and freezing rain...followed by frigid temps and snow. 'Ugh' all around, MOL/BOL!
Benji sticks his head out the doggy door to test the conditions and then hurries back inside...he does this multiple times until he can't wait any longer...and then he goes to do his business...no digging out there today! Petcretary says that is the silver lining in this mess - Hah!

Dalton darts out and does his stuff quickly too.

They both take a moment to bark at who knows what and scamper back in. The steps are slippery, so *she* has to sprinkle sand on them to give us a grip. *She* worries that one of us might slip and break a leg, esp Benji who has these long stilt-like legs...
Anyways it is a dark, dank and dreary day...January of course!

I, Pipo, just find a nice cozy and soft place to sleep the weather away...and dream of when the sun-puddles might return.

So here are some selfies of what we do when we are stuck inside with inclement outdoor conditions.
At least petcretary is off and doesn't have to venture out on the slippery roads. She is on call, but so far so good and no calls to come in, phew!

Sorry for the bad lighting in these pictures, we don't use flash, and the lighting was not the best...lamps are just not like sunshine!

I am being a good boy...just chewing up my toys, OK?!

Yup, I am...
I wish I could go outside though...its so icy and slippery out there, though...sheesh!
I'll just pass the dreary day in my 'nest'...

And try to sleep...why are you disturbing me, Petcretary??
I'm resting too...

And here comes...

That camera again...
OK, if I make a selfie then she'll stop, right?? I hope so, MOL!
A kind of no ears selfie...

Yup...no ears, BOL!

Look, A One Eared Selfie!

OK,. Here's an almost two eared selfie...
I am practicing...

My Head Tilt Skills:)
Here we are...

The Total Package of...

The Terrieristical Woofers!

We made a memento badge for dear Prancie from 15&Meowing...you can visit her page here.

We are trying to hop, but maybe its more like slipping and sliding...with The Kitties Blue who are the fine hosts of this weekly feature. Thanks so much, Kitties Blue!

  2. That is a delightful tribute picture for Prancie; she will be much missed I know. You all have the best plan in such fowl weather, and thank goodness the staff are not at work as it can be most risky on those roads and steps. Dalton has a great selfie face, full of terrier charm and optimism, MOL

    1. Thanks...and the only good thing about storms is that Benji can't dig holes in the yard as much...BOL, BOL!!
Dalton can be a real charmer if he feels safe...he has a lot of issues, being a rescue dog...
Benji was rescued at a much younger age, so he has not got all that baggage.

  3. Pipo, aren't you glad you're a cat and don't need to go outside to do your business in this weather!

  6. It's nice to see you all. Glad you're keeping warm. We woke up to howling winds early this morning. All of our snow has melted and left mud in its place.

    1. Those winds were rather ferocious!

Hope your time in that storm was not too awful.

  7. It is always much better to stay indoors in the warmth. Not so good for you dogs when nature calls though.

  8. That’s why we like being cats. We do our business inside! We hope the storm wasn’t too bad for you. We got lots of rain...and then a little ice. We’re glad it’s over now.

    1. We had more sleet than anything...after the 2 -3 inches of rain...the puddles all froze over and became skating rinks...but now they are all mud puddles again. What a strange MI winter we are having!

We had some rain today and maybe some freezing rain as it gets colder and then maybe some flurries.

    1. Your storm system was the same one that we had, it stretched across many states and all the way to the East Coast of Canada!

Indoors is wonderful on days like that:)

  10. You guys make me laugh! We are not fond of the cold and snow wither. Though we have not been as cold as you, we have a had over a foot of the cold yucky stuff fall in the last 3 days. Mom has been out shoveling - just i case she has to take Dad somewhere. So that means the front walk and the driveway. Mom went out and bought special ice melt that is safe for pets, concrete and grass. It works pretty good too
We did NOT get selfies this week because of the snow.

    1. Snow does beg for our immediate attention, doesn't it...unlike grass which while it keeps on growing will patiently wait till the peeps have some time to attend to it.

Marv, tell your Mom to not overdo it, snow can be a real pain...

I bet you can see the critters outside better in the snow than on a bare yard:)

    1. The wind was pretty wild here too, lost a big branch off a tree in the far back of our yard, but no trees fell here...they did in other areas...to the consternation of the power companies...and the peeps who had to sit in the cold and darkness.
