We had an invasion! Scary red clad booted dudes...they had red things on their boots to keep our floors clean..yup...and petcretary had to wash the floor anyways, MOL!
We are thankful those invaders are gone! Yup, they are, the plumber and his assistant had to come on Friday to check out and repair our leaky pipe...but the leaky mess was not the only trouble...we are now the owners of a new pressure tank and pipes all around that big blue thing. It seems they found multiple leaks in the pipes down there, caused by the corrosive quality of our water before it goes through our home treatment system. And the pressure was not keeping constant in the pressure tank. There was also a leak in that thing.OMC/OMD:(
So that was all fixed and now we have water again. Hooray. And eventually the basement will dry out. At least we did not have a pond down there.
Us kitties had to hide for while though, they sure made lots of noise and some smelly things too. Soldering pipes together is yucky to our fine tuned noses. Dog-guy just watched them work from the top of the steps and woofed a few opinions now and then.
But listen now, it never rains, but it pours so the saying goes.
The pressure in the new tank keeps dropping slightly too, making the pump turn on and off, more than it should. Sheesh. Why?? Because there are likely issues with the well itself...oh, dear. We thought today's work was mega bucks and a drain in our pocketbook...pun intended...so they have to come back next week and check that out. We do not want to have to replace the pump...we did that years ago and its outrageously expensive.
Pawppy says maybe all he will be giving this year as Christmas purrsents will be cards, MOL! (its a good thing petcretary has already finished her shopping for that occasion!) Well, we have good water now, and soon a dry cellar, we have a roof over our heads, enough to eat, and clothes on our backs, well the peeps do...we have each other and we have LOVE. Love always wins!
OK, Remember we said it doesn't rain, but it pours?? Unfurbro-the-elder took himself and unfurbro-the-younger to the border town of Sarnia to get new Canadian passport pictures made. Thats about 3 hours drive from here. Well, at late o'clock in the afternoon, while the plumber dudes were still here pawppy got a phone call...those young men were stranded with car trouble. Oh NO:(
They were on their way back when the car began to make awful noises from the wheel area. So they slowly limped to the nearest town, (Lansing), which is where unfurbro-the-younger lives now...to a garage that was still open. So we are waiting to hear about what the trouble is and maybe a rescue mission in the works. By which we mean to drive out there and pick them up. They can't get into unfurbro-the-younger's apt, cause he left his keys here...gads, what a weekend this is turning out to be!! Sheesh:(
And it truly rained outside. All day Friday. No lawn cleanup duties allowed that day...well, we *are* thankful we are all safe and that rain is *not* snow. MOL/BOL
Update:
Unfurbro-the-elder came home with unfurbro-the-younger. He was not grinning, but at least he was not too unhappy. He actually was thankful. The issue with his wheel, was a flat tire. At least it did not 'blow' while he was driving at highway speeds:) And a new tire costs a lot less than fixing wheelbearings, etc...but um that was a snow tire! They are more dollars than regular ones, BOL!
All is well that ends well!
And the lawn and leaves did get mowed, & cleaned up on Saturday...well, it was soggy but it got done! Yippee! Pawppy stepped in some doggy doo-doo, that was hiding under the wet leaves, BOL!! YUCK!
We hope you all had a nice Thanksgiving holiday spending time to recount your blessings with family and furends. We had a nice feast here, and there were many leftovers to indulge in later, they always still taste so good, Mmmm!

Today, the 27th of November is the day our Angle Furbling, Suki, went to live at the RB, it was her time and she earned her wings. Petcretary often things of her, she was the one and only girl-cat in the meezers that have lived here...and not only that, the only female creature at all that has lived here, MOL!! She was a diva princess kitty we were told. You can read all about her here: SUKI.
Our good furends from Catster have made us this nice badge to honor her today:
