Laboring Late With Our Sunday Selfies

Yes its already Wednesday in some parts of the world, and here we are, trying to sneak in the back door of the Sunday Selfies.  The petcretary was laboring all the three days of the long weekend. So there is our excuse:) She came home each night utterly exhausted. Nurses aides do a lot of heavy work.

Anyways not only did she work at her job, Minko decided it might be a good time to not let her feed him...he spat out or gagged on  almost all and threw up again too. Yuck. Why do our furchildren always do these things on long weekends?? Well, she continued her efforts, upped the prednisolone and he seems to be gradually improving back to his won't eat unless she puts the noms in my mouth...which is OK, because at least that way he does eat.

Labor Day weekend almost always has the petcretary thinking a lot...Sept 5th was the anniversary day of her pawrents...it would have been 66 this year. While she was at work on Sunday the fourth, there was a couple who live in that facility who celebrated their 70th! Wow!!
Its also the same day of her niece's birthday! That young lady just started college! On a hockey scholarship..she will be the goalie for the University of British Columbia's Ladies Hockey Team. They are the Thunderbirds.

And if that wasn't enough, today on his way home from work, unfurbro-the-younger called pawppy up to tell him that he had been in a wreck. Oh no. His car is a mess, but thankfully other than his pride, unfurbro-the-younger is fine. Praise the Lord for His care and mercy. We don't know if he will need a new car or can get his fixed. At least there is a rental provision in his insurance.

Always something:(

So here are the better late than nevfur selfies:

  5. Thanks for you nice comment on our Thankful Tag Bloggie. Remind Unfurbro the elder that music can be a path to relaxation if done just for fun.
Early or Late your Selfies are Great!
We are happy as the mice who smell under our door and decide not to come in about Unfrubro being ok
Minko do you want us to come up and help you with your Noms? Our Buddy Budd is on triamcinolone every few days and that has him eating. He is actually a bit too heavy and needs a help up.
Love you three and your pawrents too!

  6. You three look great in your selfies! I hope Minko feels better soon. So glad to hear your unfurbro didn't get hurt in the car crash.

Sorry your Mom had to work the long holiday weekend. Ghostwriter knows exactly what that's like, and often ends up working almost all the holidays every year. Incidentally, she thinks the nurse's aids are the backbone of every nursing home, and has endless respect for them, and the hard work they do.

    1. Thank you.

Our petcretary knows exactly what you mean, Mrs Ghostwriter. If we were not willing and able those places would be horrific. She loves what she does, but each shift has many challenges. One evening her fitbit registered over nine miles. Wow, that is a lot. Mostly its about 6, sometimes seven. And she thinks she could win if there was a weightlifting competition, BOL!

Our D.O.N. always thanks us for what we do, she 'gets it'. Though the best admins are those that are willing to 'roll up their sleeves' and pitch in if needed. Once when we were short staffed the then D.O.N. asked her, a lowly CRCA, what she needed to do to help. LOL! Another time when short the assistant helped us get all the residents cleaned up and into their wheelchairs so they could get to the dining room in time. Its team work for sure that makes that place hum:)

  9. Mr Jack Freckles so glad the unfurbro was O.K. Car accidents are frightening and that he is O.K. is all that matters. We try not to remember dates. Mr Jack you look terrific against the green grass. Lee loves all the shades of green in your photo.
    Thanks for being a friend

    1. Thank you, SWTS!
We were so glad unfurbro was O, too. Cars can be replaced but not peeps.
That grass was kind of brown and crunchy a few days before this was taken. Some big rains and then nice sunny weather greened most of it right up! Green is such a peaceful color...
