Miscellany, And A Cute 'Guest'!

Lots of not much going on here...though we did cause the petcretary some consternation...

I see and smell the evidence of your digging endeavors, Benji...

Maybe if I wash it off with my tongue she won't notice...
I swear Benji did this and not me, snickering...
Then one early morning, Benji and Dalton were both attacking the drainpipe...and it was not anywhere where it should have been, torn right off the wall
And full of bite marks...

And bent in half with lots more bites...
Oh, dear, I am in trouble now...
I'm a good boy today...
On June 16, we had some bad storms around, but when petcretary came out of the grocery store she saw this beautiful double rainbow!
Taken with my phone camera...
On her way home from work there was a pretty crescent moon and two planets, likely Jupiter and Mars but we are not sure.
Moon in the upper left, Jupiter in the middle, and Mars at the bottom right very close to the trees. (10:24 at night on June 18th, 2026)
Then a few days later she nearly walked into this pretty spiderweb...but Ms Spidery wasn't home, likely out shopping for more silk. LOL!
And when she was walking in the yard looking for rogue weeds and other invasives she found this walnut shell half  at the bottom of a tree trunk...she though it looked kind of like a barn owl face...
So she gasthered up some more of thw walnut shell bits and made a complete wee owlet, LOL!
An Owl-ly Selfie...BOL!
Petcretary has been busy trying to spoil our barking sessions and the running along the fence line with Rose...she's been putting up 'privacy fence covers', but they are not too opaque, so she might need to add a second layer. They are a bear to install, and the zip ties provided are 'wimpy' so she'll get some metal ones, they will withstand the elements of Michigan weather much better.
Here is a  view of what is up so far...on the 'Rose' side; she may hold off doing any more work on that project in the coming week, as the temps are supposed to be in the 90'sF and with high humidity, it will be dangerous to be outdoors doing heavy work. Each one of those panels is 50 feet long, and they take her about 90 minutes to install, and right now there are 6 of them, 4 on the 'Rose' side, and 2 on the other with 2 more needed there, before doubling them all up.

What a long post, thanks for bearing with us, BOL!!
We hopping in the Sunday Selfies Blog Hop, hosted as always by The Kitties Blue at The Cat On M y Head!

Well that was a newsy one! You two boys have had some mischief (sorry Dalton, but witnessing without repawting to the authorities means complicity!)... Petcretary got creative (LOVE the owlet)... oh and the planetary alignment would have been Venus (brightest), then Jupiter, and Mercury was there, but lower and much more difficult to see naked eye... we had cloud so I missed that conjunction... Have a fab week you lot! Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx

  2. My, my, am sure both Benji and Dalton would say "NOT ME" about the drain pipe thingy ... never in a blue, or double-moon. You are sure the yard-lady-supreme, retired to take on a new job! And yes, indoors with the heat coming ahead ... but bravo on what you've accomplished so far. WOO-HOO to adorable Mr Owl!

  3. Boys, that is a lot of fence that's going up there isn't it. It'll be nice for privacy I'm sure. Now what's this about chewing on a metal downspout? Not exactly a good thing to clean your teeth on you know. Love seeing the rainbow, we just always hate that it takes a storm to make one.

  10. We had no idea that a canine could do that much damage to a downspout! Are you sure it was one of you? My thought is that it was a bear! The double rainbow is fabulous!

  17. A MARVELOUS post and all this amazing news and a darling owl-let to boot!!!! Wonderful screen you are putting up and we have one, too and it's WORK to put it up. Watch out for the heat, mama is feeling it and she grew up in 100 degree weather but shes...uh....not a spring chick any longer so feels the heat. Such a surprise for a sun-lover!!!
Good luck with all. LOVE the photos and especially the lovely owl!!!!

  18. Nice job on downspout! 😂 We had some of that fence barrier years ago. I remember what a pain it was to install just a short fence run and I had to replace zip ties over the years of high altitude sun beating down on them till I got smart and started using wire. Good luck. Very clever 'owl' 'artwork.'

  21. Lulu: "That is some excellent digging work you've done there, boys! I mean ... that someone has done there who certainly isn't either one of you. And I'm sure that drainpipe deserved whatever it got. Maybe it was harboring a chipmunk!"
