Our local pet shop had a photo contest with photo fundraising sessions over two Saturdays to raise funds for two rescues that work in our county/city.
So last Saturday and yesterday we got put into our 'seatbelts' and off we went to support our local rescue groups, one of which is the one where Dalton came from, after being pulled from a high kill shelter in Texas...(Benji also came from Texas but not till almost a year after Dalton.)

One of these pictures won all around best picture in the contest! So we swon a gift certificate to use in the pet shop! How cool is that!?! Then we got back in the car to go home...and to be naked once again...which we find the best costume of all! |

| Does anyone know what kind of squash or gourds these are, or even if they are edible? They all came from one huge volunteer plant in the back of our yard, where last year we had burned up a lot of yard debris. |
Well done on getting a prize. And you do look spectacular in your disguises. But in the fur' is definitely the way to go.

Great costumes, Benji and Dalton, and I really love the lambie one! We thought your gourds were cucs until you told us otherwise.
ReplyDeleteThat is one huge pile of gourds. If they are gourds they will lie out there and dry and you'll be able to Rattle them in the spring. Love the costumes boys. You guys dress up really great.

As for the 'fruits', if no definitive ID is found, then treat them as ornamental gourds and definitely not to be eaten. Which would be a shame, because that is quite the crop! hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx
