DNA Report Selfies

We had to go to the vet this past week...it was time for a checkup and some vaccines, so off we went. All was well, no bad stuff to report, other than Dalton is getting the blue tinted eyes, which means he has the beginnings of cataracts...a common occurrence in senior doggies. We got our new script for our heartworm prevention, and the test was negative as well.

It stayed very hot here until Wednesday, then the humidity started to drop, and Thursday, Friday and Saturday were in the mid 70'sF. Very pleasant. We still see a lot of haze from the wildfires in Canada...today is lovely as well.we actually have had our windows open to let the cool night breezes come in. Ahhh, makes for comfy sleeping, both for man and for beast alike!

Why doesn't someone open this pocket door for me so I can go and see/sniff whatever is on the other side...

Take a good look at Benji and then look at this DNA profile...does Benji even remotely resemble an American Pitbull Terrier??? We always figured he was a Schnauzer mix, perhaps with a Patterdale or Border Terrier...Well.we still have two other DNA tests from a different company that were gifted to us, so we'll check what they have to say about Benji...and we'll do the other one for Dalton.

We were quite floored when we read these results! We sure hope they tested Benji's sample and didn't get it mixed up with another pup's...

Why are we in this small room?? I need answers and a lot of reassurance, cause this place makes me nervous...
We made a couple of 'At the Vet' Ussies...
Benji:I'm a Pidoodachspin! Dalton: I'm a bro to this Pidoodachspin! BOL!!!

We have joined the Sunday Selfies Blog Hop. The Kitties Blue from The Cat On my Head are the faithful as always hosts! Thanks so much for always hosting, and for so many years already!!

Well, doesn't that all just fall into the category of not judging books by covers!!! What matters is that you are who you are, Benji, and that is your own cute and quirky self!!! Dalton, in advance, I'm going to guess a lot of Fox Terrier, some Jack Russel, a touch of Border Collie and, pawhaps, just a tickle of Staffie....... hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx

  2. Pit Bull Benji? Never, no way, nada! First of all, he's just too darn cute. Second, sweet. Third, lovable. Shall we go on, and on ... Happy Sunday y'all. BTW, we too, got some "cool down" and so thankful for it!

  4. Glad your vet visit went well. And that was a real surprise DNA test for Benji. I would have never guessed he was any of those breeds.

  5. Those DNA test results are bizarre, to say the least. We vote for a mixing up of samples!

We're glad you had a good vet visit.

    Woof,

  11. We have been having issues! Not with you guys, with our Peep 7 her favorite browser. Everytime she updates Firefox, we can't comment on you guys blog and she has to switch to Chrome. And sometimes she SAYS she is going to and then forgets! (we think its Old Timers Disease...) But we wanted to let you know that your post last week was wonderful and your Peeps still look TERRIFIC! And We'd hate to findout what the Nutcase really is...her "birth certificate" says she is a "Cowboy Corgi" (Mini Corgi and Austrialian Cattle Dog-Heeler), but we think there are some other genes in there! You both look happy and healthy and you are PURRFECT Mutts! Keep being awesome guys! Marvelous Marv, Kozmo, Jo Jo, Nutmeg and Mom Barb

  12. Java Bean: "Ayyy, you never know what those DNA reports are going to say! Mama and Dada thought I might come back with some vizsla but nope, not a drop! I have got some super-mutt in there, though, which I think means I might be able to join the Avengers."
Charlee: "I think super-mutt gets you into the Justice League, not the Avengers."
Lulu: "And I'm half Malamute and a quarter Siberian Husky and Samoyed, but then I have some Cocker Spaniel in there too. Dada thinks the Cocker Spaniel is probably what keeps me from being gigantic. He says that like it's a good thing but I don't know, being gigantic might be fun ..."

  13. Super duper selfies from both of you. How could a DNA test go so wrong - that is a ridiculous analysis - your Mom should demand a redo!!! Glad the vet visits went well despite the cataracts. Too bad they don't do surgery like our Mom had - her vision is the best it's ever been for as long as she can remember.

  14. Hmm I wonder. Sometimes the genetics governs size not just looks. I wonder? Do you have the option to ask for an explanation, or more details on the site to help understand your results. I did a review on Dash Kitten for Basepaws, I am not sure if that might help but might be worth a look? (won't put in link it might get chewed up look for 'The Basepaws DNA Test for Pets'. )

  15. oh sometimes you get a big surprise... we had it done for both and it said da nelly has the longhair gene. but now they found out that they mixed the two tests up and the longhair carrier is da phenny... fortunately we are no breeders oh my...

  16. Wow, what info one can get. But mama says she loves you two no matter if you have alligator genes and we hope your eyeballs aren't inhibiting finding your food, Dalton.

  18. Wait...what?? Pitbull...bwhahahahahaha...my Mum would demand a recount. That's just goofy. I rather like your definition...Pidoodachspin, but think you should drop the Pi part. Glad the vet visits went well. We think you guys are just top drawer in our books. Even though you guys looked a bit stressed at the vet office, I think your usies are pawtastic!

  20. OMDs...that is quite a perfect mix Benji. Too funny they things that pop up in DNA.
Dalton dear one...I bet Benji will be very good at helping you navigate things.
It will be interesting to see what 2nd DNA says
Hugs to you both and your staff.
