Dona Nobis Pacem ~ Hold The Light

Holding a light makes  darkness fade away, so those on the dark path will see where they are going.
It is a beautiful thing if you can hold a light for your neighbor, when they are floundering in their dark time, or even lost in it. Then they'll be able to see their way out. Imagine if everyone held a light for someone every day. What a beautiful thing it would be, and then friendships might bloom...which is the beginning of peace,
Dona Nobis Pacem.
Let there be peace on Earth and let it begin with ME!

  1. Dearest Ingrid,
Dona Nobis Pacem is Latin from the Catholic Mass and it means: Give us peace.
Often people lull themselves to feeling good.
More than likely it is just an empty slogan without deeds...
If each one of us would really care and stand up for the ones that need it MOST, yes—it would bring PEACE.
My Pieter and I have tried hard to hold a Light...
The forgotten, the voiceless and the sad thing is that they exist since biblical times!
We, the world is just looking the other way...https://mariettesbacktobasics.blogspot.com/2013/12/like-princess-diana-i-also-tried-to.html

  17. I'm back again and blessed to see this beautiful image. I tried to leave a comment reply on my own blog but blogger is being finicky today. So....I will say here that your Father was a kind, generous, and inspiring soul. To go above and beyond as he did in your community, with the immigrants, the poor, and neighborhood! To learn their language is amazing and the story of the burglar demonstrates the character of the man you called Father. What a privilege to grow up under his shadow (it clearly shines in you, too!) a place where no darkness can thrive. Your post brought tears to my eyes. Thank you for sharing these stories with us. Don't we need to see the power of kindness in this hour? Peace to you and yours, Mimi
