Busted Innocent Pups!

We have had our share of way too much snow lately...about 9 inches last week, another 4-6 on Wed/Thurs, and Saturday in the wee hours, before we got up we had an other 3 inches or so. Lots of noisy snow thrower work, and also some sore muscles from the shovel work needed to clear where the snow thrower can't reach. At least if the forecasts are correct, we should have a couple of semi-spring teaser days before going back to winter again.

The birds at our feeders are voracious and the starlings are like piggies...they steal all the food and scare away the smaller pretty birds...The bluebirds love mealworms and that is what those starlings are going for...of course its the most expensive food we feed our feathered friends...at least they can't get at the suet feeder, because only woodpeckers and other clinging birds can access the upside-down feeder! They can't get the peanuts in the peanut feeder, again, ts only for clinging birds, they can easily get them...such as Chickadees, Nuthatches, Tufted titmouse, and all the woodpeckers.

There is a large bin feeder with a closing perch, that stops big birds and squirrels...and we have a tube feeder with collapsing perches for the same purpose. Maybe we need another for the mealworms!

Well,  you can tell by the title that there were gremlins in our den recently...or a Not Me!

Its winter; and when its cold and snowy outside and petcretary and pawppy are at their jobs we get bored...esp Benji...

So a bit ago, this is what petcretary came home to:

Oh-Oh!
I'm a good boy, right?
Yes, I sure am! Hehehe!

After she gathered up the mess, I snagged Dalton's monkey dude and destuffed it some more...I was busted with the evidence in my mouth!
Sheesh, Benji, that was MY monkey...now what's left for me to rip up?

Moose and Monkey, totally annihilated...

                                                                                     ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
On Feb 15th, at The Tuesday Teaser, petcretary sent in this image as a guest teaser. No one was able to guess it, though a few had the right country. It even took petcretary a lot of hours to find the village in the background, even though she knew the region. and the name of the river, LOL! (Petcretary's cousins took this picture and allowed her to send it to the Teaser.)
As Quoted by the Teaser Graphics Dept:   'This photo was taken by one of Ingrid’s relatives and it is the beautiful village of Serrig on the River Saar, Saarland, Germany.     We did have several guesses in Germany so good for those of you who got that much right!    My own Mom said it reminds her a lot of her river cruise with my Dad on the Rhine River some years ago.'
This was our Badge for sending in the guest picture...and no; this week she was NOT a firstie, LOL!
There is a Birthday Catabration going on at The Kitties Blue, who are the weekly hosts of this Sunday Selfie Blog Hop! Go visit and add your own selfie, and have fun, too! Thanks Kitties Blue for being our hosts! We love you all!
  3. even with all the evidence, Benji, it's hard to believe a dog that LOOKS so innocent could do all this damage. we had a dog names Cooper that loved to destuff toys. after he did he liked to keep them and play with them and throw the whimpy things in the air and on occasion bury them in the yard and months later come in the door with dirty mudddy dug up unstuffed stuffies
  4. The face says it all: "not me momma".
    (Perhaps Chester's evil squirrel cartel got in da house and did all the destuffing of the stuffies?)
    Yeah, right.
    Excuses, excuses!
  6. Well, you certainly look furry innocent - but it looks like you were caught red-pawed and with a smoking gun. Er, smoking stuffing (mol)...
  9. Chaplin: "This sort of thing used to happen to Dennis's stuffies all the time. He always told us they had self-destructed because they were defective. Looks like yours are, too!"
  11. It's okay to destroy your toys, Benji. At least it wasn't a nice pillow or part of the furniture. BOL! Did you know you can get meal worm feeders that discourage or prevent bigger birds from getting in? If you search for "Gilbertson Mealworm Feeder" you can find them (or even a plan to make one). It took our birds a while to figure it out but eventually they were using it with no problem.
  12. We have yet to find a feeder the squirrels can't get into.
    Too bad about the toy, guess you need another!!!
    1. Our feeders are not squirrel proof, but we have a 6 foot stovepipe 8" diameter, around the pole and no squirrel has ever been able to climb up on it. At first they did try,but they are smart and soon they gave up...so they just say on the ground to eat uop the dropped seeds, etc.
      Its not very 'eye worthy' but it gets the job done!
  16. that is just the season... blizzards can happen inside too... why da toy makers fill da toys with snow? peanutbutter would be a better solution... there would be no mess on da floor :O)
  17. MOL! My human looks at scenes like these and says, "This is why I don't have dogs." I do hope some spring teasers come your way.
  18. Chester would say that was some excellent squeaky toy management procedure. You can fit more squeaky toys in your storage facility if you take the stuffing out of them. Carry on Benji!
  19. Sorry we are late. Life tangled up our toes!
    It's funny, our Summer birds have had a rush of wanting food this past week. I wonder what it is all about. They don't have the winter worries your birds have (or quite so many starlings) but it is still odd.
  20. All the different bird feeders would be a dream for Rosie as a natural Television ! She would watch the whole day !! Benji had a lot of work, no wonder that he was exhausted ! He just wanted to see what was inside these two toys, that's a healthy curiosity !
  22. I've had my share of pwecious toys destroyed by my brofurs. I especially mourn the loss of an orange fuzzy feather toy with a pumpkin head wearing a witch hat. I so loved it. Untill my brofur Rabbit stole it, and spit on it, and put his stinky bref all over it. *swipes tear* Anyway, I'm sure yoor Momma will buy yoo new toys.
    Also, I am a huge fan of Bird TeeVee. Back at our old house Momma fed the birds all the time. The squirrels got fed too because they were super tricky acrobats. Love, Dori
