Feathered Guest Selfies ~ Tabbies O Trout Towne Beware!!

Yup, we have some guests with feathers today, But of course you all want to see us doing our Mardi Gras which was this past Tuesday. And no, these are not the feathered guest selfies, BOL!

Petcretary was on the ball that Tuesday (Feb 16), as well, very early in the morning we might add...

She was one of four first commenters at Teddy's Tuesday Teaser Post...and not only that, she was also the first right guesser of where the picture had been taken.

So she got this special double winner badge:

This is the  picture she guessed, its from Ireland..oh to be in the green of a pretty spring right now, LOL!

This photo was taken in Ennistymon, County Clare, Ireland.

We also had quite a dump of snow from Monday night to Tuesday...about 8 inches total. Our pawrents shared the task of digging out, at least they did not have to go anywhere that day...the roads were a disaster and there were oodles of businesses and services closed, even vaccination clinics for Covid were delayed and the peeps with appointments having to come on another day.

We are happy that all the restrictions that were imposed upon Pawppy on account of his surgery have now been lifted and he is only restricted by his own need to stay safe...at any rate pawppy was able to use the snow thrower to help clear out the driveway. Petcretary cannot use it, its way too big and heavy for her.

Pawppy is using the snow thrower! It really does throw the snow!!

Then the temps went way way down...and one night we were  at -11F. Brrr! We were in the infamous Polar Vortex of 2021...which even traveled all the way down to Texas, (And other states not too well equipped for extreme cold...), and wreaked havoc on their whole infrastructure regards to power and gas and even the water supply! Yikes. So many with no power and no heat in the frigid temps...

We are pawyering for relief to be available for all those affected so adversely and may they soon be back to a nice and warm Texas.

Thanks, Ann, from Zoolatry

Speedy hasn't been feeling well, either, he has a very bad abscess on one of his paws. So we add our POTP for him also.

You can visit Speedy here, just click to go there.

**OK, Tabbies, Time to cover your eyes or leave...LOL!**

We had all kinds of birds at our feeders after all that snow and when the temps were so cold, including bluebirds, which we never see in the winter. So petcretary stood on a chair to take some pics through the window pane...

Tufted Titmouse

Junco

Nuthatch

Wren

Bluebirds

I am waiting my turn...

But that other bird is taking a long time...

And I am COLD! and HUNGRY!

I was a little too quick for the camera to 'catch' all of me...LOL!

I am all fluffed up to stay warmer...good thing there is lots of food here to help.

I want the warm spring to happen NOW!

Just in:

Pawppy just received some very sad news on Saturday...is dear elder brother passed away, at the age of 69.

He had been ailing for several years, and a few years ago was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's Disease. Such a horrible scourge. But a few months ago he was also diagnosed with Stage 4 liver cancer. Yet another awful disease.

We can fly to the moon, make all kinds of technology, but thus far we have no handle on some pretty serious and debilitating if not fatal diseases:(

So please just keep us close in your thoughts. We do not yet know of any arrangements, etc. He lived in Washington DC, where pawppy grew up.

We are in the Sunday Selfies, a weekly feature, hosted by our friends The Kitties Blue.

  1. I for one loved the Bird TV, and the Mardi Gras photos too! I'm sorry about the male human's brother. 69 is too young to have suffered the ills he did.

  2. So much news this week. I am sorry about your dad's brother, that is just so sad.

  3. I am sorry to hear of Pawppy's brother and send my condolences.
We were in that same place as the Teaser in October 2017 when we took a road trip around Ireland. We had been to the Cliffs of Moher and stopped in Ennistymon which is about 10 minutes away for a coffee. It is a lovely spot. We were busy laying a carpet on Tuesday so I didn't get to the Teaser until the evening.
The Mardi Gras selfies are cute. I love the bird photos and you got some great shots.

  4. We are very sorry to hear of your loss. Early onset Alzheimer's is especially awful.

We absolutely loved all the bird shots. Many of the birds are different from the ones we have in France. And the Mardi Gras shots are awesome too!

  15. Oh Wow! There looks like here did earlier this week. We did get some warms the last couple of days though. But the mountain passes have all been closed and up high is expecting MORE of the white stuff. And we love you guys all Mardis Gras! Our human brother has been to Ne Orleans during Mardi Gras a few times and he said it was a lot of fun! We LOVE the birds! You guys have different birds than we do, though we did recognize a couple. And we LOVE their selfies. Queen Nellie is quite upset about Speedy. She is watching over him. And we are purryaing for Pappy's Brother. Thank you for visiting us and we love to read your comments! 19. oh my!! I am so deeply sorry about your husband's brother, that is just heartbreaking, beyond heartbreaking at such a young age. Your bird photos are so gorgeous they look like watercolor paintings! They are exquisite! Of course your woofie photos are too! I'll tell ya, since we don't have a yard, this walking the dog stuff with mountains of snow is getting really old!! Who gets a dog right before winter? Only dumbos like me! lol. Wednesday I think a lot of it is going to melt. Can't wait! Stay warm and (((hugs))) and love and my deepest sympathy to your husband and you.

Don't tell The Tabbies but the bird & feather pictures are wonderful!

  23. First, our good wishes for a smooth acceptance go out to pappy at the passing of his brother. Your bro had a couple of serious illnesses and personally I'd rather there was more attention given to curing illnesses than going to various other planets.

Da Tabbies are turning over in mid air at the sight of such feathery beasts.
