There's A Dog In The Box!

We got a big box when the Chewy order came in...so even though Box day was earlier this month, we thought it would be fun to make a 'box with dog session'...well *she* did...we had to be very much coaxed into this box...and two of us?? No way, BOL!

Well, there you have it...the box-dog-stars! BOL!!

We have joined all the other selfies at The Cat On My Head. Thanks for hosting!!

New Soft Mat Selfies

Yup, we got a BIG new soft mat...we love it!

Even folded in half it's big enough for both of us...let's hope it lasts...and no one digs his nest into it too vigorously, or chews it...

Wow, this mat is HUGE!
Even for me, it's large!

And we can snuggle together and there is still room to stretch out! (Benji is wearing an electronic anti tick device on his collar, in case you were wondering...)
Petcretary apologizes for being remiss in letting us 'go visiting'...she gets a few in each day, but if she would try to let us see all of our friends, we'd be up for 24 hours or more! We haven't forgotten any of you, we just know *she* is busy with all that tree stuff, her work, the regualr chores and so on...
These trunks and limbs were cut away, so now petcretary and us, well we can get through back there without bonking our heads. This area is where she thinks the poison ivy 'got her'...

This was a huge wood pile, from a lot of the smaller limbs and brush...

It burned for a long time, and now it's just a small bump in the yard...all black and sooty!
There are about 10 more of these piles to burn away, before the area will be clear enough to let the big bosses in with their large saws...way bigger than ours...(a 12 inch battery powered mini chainsaw)...and then after that we'll get the fence fixed. *She* wanted to do more burning yesterday, but firstly, it was 90+ degreesF, and secondly, it was way too windy to have a fire of that size...yikes..we don't need a forest wild fire here!
If you have any desire for a weenie roast or the ingredients for S'mores....we'll help you nosh them if you come when the next fires happen...who knows when that will be, with the long range forecast, not being too favorable for that kind of thing...

Oh, dear...Yesterday was National Selfie Day...well, we hardly ever post on that day so our Ussie will have to do for us! Petcretary didn't even do a selfie for her work. there was contest going on there and the residents were going to vote for the selfie they like the best, Well, maybe next year, BOL!
We are hopping along with many others at The Cat On My Head, the weekly hosts of this fun hop. Thanks Kitties Blue!

Angels...

Once again there are Angels arriving at the Rainbow Bridge gates...Someone need to lock those doors.

In no particular order:

Balthazar belongs to the family of The Angelic Clowder; and you can read about him, HERE.

Achilles is part of the extended family of Xena, and you can read about him  HERE.

Cupcake, doesn't have an active blog, but her Mom can be found on facebook,   HERE.

Feel free to visit each one and leave your comforting messages, if you haven't yet done so.

While I didn't know two of these new angels very well, I am thankful that I can make these mementos to add my bit of comfort to the hurting and grieving families as they miss their furry ones.

I am thankful that the predicted severe weather didn't happen here, though we did have a lot of thunder and heavy rain. (Which was actually good, because it has been hot and dry here of late) The new mailbox is ordered...and a lot of the tree mess is slowly but surely getting cleaned up. Soon we'll be able to call in the heavy duty workers to finish of the tree mess, and get the fence fixed. Not sure who will help with the digging for the new mailbox pole... And I am also thankful that the tick I found on my arm didn't yet get too imbedded...those rascals are nasty!

Thankful Thursday

Happy Father's Day ~ 2025

We love our pawppy, after all he's our doggy father figure and he feeds us and gives us our treats every day! He gives us scritches and cuddles, too. He cannot take us for walks, though, because of his mobility issues, so we let petcretary do that, BOL! We love him anyways...and even though we don't like going there, he pays for the vet bills mostly, too! It's a good thing, these days cause those bills can really hurt the bank account!

He also had a birthday on the 13th...so Friday the 13th was a good day for him...nothing bad about that day!

Petcretary is working this weekend, though, so we are reusing old 'cards', to give her a break...

She is also busy, still, in the yard trying to get all the tree tops cleared away. She's making inroads, but still has more to do. At least all her poison ivy itchies are gone, and she didn't get any new ones! Phew!

However if that tree and fence mess wasn't enough, last Sunday am, after the blog had already been published, there was another big trouble...someone had run into our mailbox across the street, and it was GONE! As in the 4x4 pole, concreted in four feet down, and covered in a steel shell, topped by the heavy locking steel mailbox was flat, about two feet away from where it had stood, and the box itself was about 120 feet further down the road. Someone has a badly damaged vehicle and must have hit it at a high speed, judging by the distance the box had traveled. So now we have no where to put our mail, we'll have to redirect it until the next box is installed...the original is beyond repair/reuse. And since petcretary had dug the previous hole for the post a couple of years ago, (We used to have all our mail sent to a PO box), she's not sure she can do that not wonderful chore again...and pawppy certainly cannot. Maybe we'll need to rent a motorized hole digger! Sheesh!

Mailbox post, flattened, and askew from its original spot. The mailbox is near the road edge at the top of the photo...it's about 120 feet further up the street! We couldn't even find the newspaper holder that was attached to that pole as well...

What next???

The unfurbros came here on the 13th, and took the pawrents out to dinner to celebrate both Father's Day and pawppy's birthday...but sheesh, they didn't take us, nor did they bring us a doggy bag...sigh...

We were not happy that you didn't bring us anything yummy from that restaurant...

Addendum:

Sadly Sandra's son and family, (Sandra from Mad Snapper and Beau), lost their sweet Allie; so we asked petcretary to make this memento to honor her.
Allie; you can visit the post about Allie, here.

Fenris from Alastronia, the Cats and Dogs also became an Angel on June 13th.

We've joined the Sunday Selfies Blog Hop, at The Cat On my head. Thanks for hosting!!

Post Birthday Pawrty Highlights!

Well, as promised we had a wee pawrty here for me Benji, on Saturday, the day after my Birthday, petcretay wasn't able to do this on *the day* because of her work...oh well, that meant more fun for us, BOL!

I got a special meal, a yummy birthday cookie, as well as some presents! Thanks Petcretary, I love you as much as you love me! A kiss and a peck, and a hug around the neck!! WOOFS!

When it was my Birthday, Dalton came to greet me with a BD kiss! But he was so embarrassed afterwards, BOL!
We got to sit at the table to eat!! First time ever...who cares that it was the patio table...teehee!

It was a yummy chicken stew!! I licked all the gravy off first...Mmmm!

The height of the table was a bit awkward for Dalton so he got to enjoy his meal on the patio itself.

I was trying to gobble it up in huge bites cause it was SO yummy!

Good to the last smidgen, and it sure was lip-smacking good!
Thanks for the yummy food, Petcretary! I would love to eat that every day...Hmmm, said she...
I am enjoying my birthday dessert, a decorated cookie, and yes Dalton got one too, but he only licked at it...but...I wasn't allowed to have his, phooey. Thanks anyways, petcretary, I love all these presents!
This carrot is as long as me almost...and it seems bigger than Dalton. I will let you know how long it takes before I chew it all up like a good rabbit would do, BOL!

Could you spare some POTP for petcretary?? She went to urgent care before this pawrty because she has poison ivy all over herself, complements of not knowing there were those vines wound around the tree tops she was cutting into smaller bits...because all the leaves and junk had become a big brown merss after several weeks of lying there. Thankfully the insurance dude said their policy covers the broken fence and a lot of the tree roval, esp those laying on the fence. Meanwhile she's on medicine and skin ointment to alleviate the symptoms...mainly blisters, and intense burning and itching...if its not one thing it's another around here, it seems. Phooey!

We are hopping along with all the Kitties Blue who are the hosts for this fun blog hop!

I Am Seven!! It's My Birthday!

Today I have turned the calendar to start my eighth year, as now I am seven! Wow time does fly!

I had hoped to escape the picture session, but well, petcretary said that Blogville wanted to see you...so here they are, in all my seriousness, BOL!!

Maybe tomorrow I'll have a wee pawrty, since today petcretay has to go to her work...I guess all the little old ladies and gents need her there, so off she'll go...then we'll be back here on Sunday to show all our 'doings'.

I'm glad he's wearing the hat, but I'm not sure this 'crown' is any better!

I'm so much happier outside, even on a HOT day!
And since it's Friday, petcretary wants to know if anyone knows what kind of wildflower this is, It is NOt a daisy, coreopsis or a dandelion...Its almost 2 feet tall!
My ID info doesn't seem to have this one in its 'catalogue'...

A *BIG* Guest Selfie

When we said big, we really meant that! Petcretary is working this weekend, and she's also been busy clearing away a lot of the mess in our yard...mainly small limbs and a lot of the zillions of branches from the downed treetops. She has a couple of small chainsaws that help with that job...and because they are battery operated it limits the time she spends out there, which is a good thing, otherwise she would exhaust herself, Tee-hee! There is an insurance adjuster who will come and appraise all the damage to the yard and esp the fence, so we can get the big logs out of there, and get the fence fixed so that our yard can be back to normal...

Having said that she has not made any new pics of us...so we are allowing her to show some pics of our big guest for today's selfie hop.

So here are those promised pics...petcretary helped *him* take these selfies last year when she  was out west in Vancouver, BC, visiting family. (She only had her phone camera, so she was surprised how well these pics actually turned out!)

He even smiled!! We think this is Coola; but we are not 100% sure, and of course he wouldn't tell us, LOL!

If you can enlarge this you can read the story of these two Grizzly Bears.

Grizzly bear brothers from other Mothers...Grinder and Coola

A grizzly Bear 'Ussie'! ( They were actually swimming in that pond, the smaller bear is half submerged; it was a hot day!)

We are joining up with all the other Sunday Selfies at The Cat On My Head. Thanks Kitties Blue, we love this blog hop!
