Mutt Day, 2024! Wordy Wednesday!

Yup, its Mutt Day and that we are indeed!! Benji for sure is a mutt, he even has a nickname to that effect....Muttsky-Putsky!! (Or Ragbag-Scruffbucket), BOL! Dalton is a mutt, too, but since he actually looks a bit more refined, shall we say, his nickname is also...he's just Big-Ears, or Schnook!

Anyways the other day they were at the vet's, just routine, nothing bad at all...(The only bad thing was the hole in the bank account...), so here is an ussie showing off our Mutt-ness!

Dalton is a Rat Terrier Mix, maybe he has some chihuahua, dachshund or min-pin...who knows? Benji is another terrier mix, likely Schnauzer and goodness knows what else. Pawppy thinks Patterdale Terrier...

And we had to help petcretary make another memento for a beloved kitty...

 We got some yummy doggy Churros from Chewy to 'test'...and review.

Well, they were a hit! No further woofs needed, we'll just show our pics, some of which went on the review we sent to Chewy.

This past Tuesday at Teddy's TeaserClass, petcretary we first along with two other 'students' who were first to get through the school doors.

I was one of THREE First Commenters on the Teaser post of July 22, 2024!!!!!!! WAY TO GO TEAM!

This past Tuesday at Teddy's TeaserClass, petcretary we first along with two other 'students' who were first to get through the school doors. Petcretary didn't try to guess it because she was busy with cleaning up the pile of wood and junk that was our old shed. With help of a good friend and his truck, most of the mess is now gone...and bonus, he's going to come and work on cleaning up a lot of the-trees that have come down over the years in our back woodsy area. That will make it nicer and easier to keep all the weeds at bay. He thought we should get rid of a huge tree that has lots of holes in it, woodpecker work...but she said NO because lots of birds and critters live in there, its their food and shelter...esp now that the old shed is gone. (Another reason we have not seen any burning of the huge wood pile in another area of our yard...)

If you want to see the new shed, (not really new anymore; its been up since early fall of 2022); here is a picture of when it had just been put up, by the same unfurs who came last Saturday to tear down the old one!

This shed is very close to our back steps, it houses our lawnmower and snow thrower....and some other odds and ends. We sure hope the tree rats do not try to gain entrance to this one!

In Memory of Jaava

 Jaava from Catio Tales recently earned her angelic wings, and flew away to the Rainbow Bridge.

We didn't know her that well, but it is always very sad when a family member has to say those kind of goodbyes.

Demolition Day!

Saturday was a great day as far as the weather was concerned...not too hot or humid...a perfect day to take down our old decrepit and rotting shed...

So our sons came over to smash it down. The squirrels had gotten into it, stored their walnuts in there, and made nests, too...and then a tree fell on the roof...what a mess! So down it came! We do have a nice new one, much closer to the house, and far away from trees... 

Dalton & Benji were a bit worried...but didn't freak out, so we let them roam...then after they left, they just had to go back there and investigate...sheesh, so I had to block it off, until we can get someone to haul away the pile of wood and shingles.

You can see one of the big holes that a tree limb put into the roof...

We didn't much like all that banging, and sheesh, those dudes don't even live here...who said they could ruin the squirrel's house??

Well, we were a lot happier after they left!

This past Tuesday, Petcretary provided the guest teaser image for people to guess, (At Teddy's Tuesday Teaser),it was of a church she took a picture of when she was visiting her cousin in The Netherlands, way back in 2008!

In Memory Of Savannah

 A few days ago, Savannah from  Savannah's Paw Tracks flew away to the Rainbow Bridge. Her mom is beside herself with grief, and we know her Dad misses her, too. 

Savannah was very well known for many years in the world of Blogville...it is the ending of yet another Blogville legend...and will be missed by everyone who knew her there.

Petcretary is at her work this weekend...there she saw Monty, he was visiting his 'GrandMom'...Monty is a Bichon Frise, and he  was such a wiggle-butt! And a smiley one at that! He sure was a friendly and happy little Dude!

Hi, I am Monty, and I LOVE to smile!!

Last Tuesday we got the remnants of Hurricane Beryl...in the form of a Tropical Depression...we had about 4 inches of rain in our gauge. Too much all at once!

And there was a lot of flooding here and there, streets had to be closed in some places. But it wasn't violent here...we feel bad for all the peeps in Texas who really got hit hard. We hope by the time our Texan friends may be reading this blog post that they have their power back on.

Also on Tuesday, Petcretary was one of three first to class at Teddy's Teaser.
