In Memory Of Tama

Sweet and beloved "Queen' Tama left her earthly family to join those angels that went before her.

We made this memento for her, Mom, Virginia, from The Poupounette.

Winter?? Coal??

Last week we were sort of grumbling about the cold and snow, it was definitely winter, though it was still fall. Today is the start of winter officially, but right now it sort of feels like March! Almost all the snow, which was quite deep when it was fresh, is gone, the grass is visible and only the snow remains where it was piled up! Thursday it poured buckets all day long, and after a brief return to nasty wintry weather on Friday, we are enjoying the balm! However we think we will not have a white Christmas! Instead we might have a muddy one! BOL!

With the return of visible grass, the yard is way more interesting to us...there are squirrels digging holes where they had buried acorns and walnuts, and lots of new underground tracks are visible from the mole and voles. We spent quite a lot of time investigating the large wood pile...and some of the smaller ones, leftovers from the May storm cleanup work...which got put on hold due to the weather and our friend who is doing the work, well he is busy now, with his wife, she is newly diagnosed with breast cancer and is undergoing chemo and that is way more important than our tree mess!

Our unfurbros will be here for Christmas...and maybe for Christmas Eve. Extra fun for Benji, but extra stress for Dalton. Our pawrents sure wish that we could figure out how to help him not be so anxious and stressed when there are 'strangers' around...especially men...

We saw two different Santas in past weeks...too bad it was before we were bad! Hmmm. Anyways, the other day the pawrents came home to this:

Petcretary likes to do jigsaw puzzles...but um...sheesh!
That *was* a picture taken by a professional photographer, Well at least we have a digital copy. The 'Not Me' dude is taking the blame, BOL! (Somehow it had fallen off of petcretary's desk, where she had it displayed...)
Petcretary thinks it was me who did the ripping up work..but of course I am not telling, BOL!

Then the other day petcretary was upstairs getting something she needed. Pawppy had gone to bed early...anyways when she came back downstairs she walked to the other side of the house and saw this:

This poor bunny had the misfortune of entering into (under the gate) our yard, likely to find something to munch on...Rabbits and other fauna who venture under the gates (which is the only way to enter if they are large, because the fence itself is buried a foot), do not stand a chance if either of us take notice. So this one was brought inside, likely be me, Benji, but I am not telling...and dumped right by our toy box...petcretary had to quickly retrieve it and gave it a funeral, which was the best she could do as it was quite deaded by the games we had with it...Would you believe, when Pawppy saw that picture the next morning, he thought the rabbit had gotten into the house on its own through our doggy doors...yeah, as if...BOL!!!

We can't possibly be guilty of those crimes...we claim innocence...
So now *she* says we may be getting a sack of coal, come Christmas...maybe we need to have the 'Not Me' dude return to explain to Santa Paws...

Anyways here is the image from the ripped up card, made into a frame for enhancement...and for your enjoyment:

From our first Santa Visit
Here's the image from our second Santa Visit a couple of weeks after the first one. they had a nice backdrop...good thing we didn't rip up that one, it's still on display in a different place so we can't access it!

At the first santa's waiting line there were some naughty pups who barked and snarked at us, but not at this one. We even got to see some sweet kittens that were up for adoption...and another pup about Benji's size, who was very friendly to all of us! Nope we didn't bring him home...his name was Popeye!! BOL! We think that he would be an even bigger digger and prey driven pup than I, Benji...and anyways *she* said that three pups here would send her right to the funny farm!

Here is another image taken at the first Santa visit by petcretary, (with her phone while she watched us...), and put by magical AI into another background, because the one there wasn't wide enough and it was showing stuff from the pet store...

We took an older image of us in our Christmas sweaters (sheesh we DO have a lot of them!), and petcretary played with it in FLOW, an AI program she has on her computer. (to be honest, she finds it easier to bring everything she wants to use in an image into Gimp and work it from there...it can do a lot more than the AI! The image generator there is OK, but it can be quite wonky and weird in producing what she asks for, BOL!)
It's another Christmas card from us to YOU all!   (Petcretary wonders if she should redo it and add an angel bunny...hmmm)

We are hopping in the famous Blog Hop known as The Sunday Selfies, at The Cat On Our Head who host this feature each and every week! Since 2014 already! WOWEE!

The Continuance Of Winter And A Christmas Outing

Yup, its still winter here, even though we are still in the last week of fall. We have snowfall almost every day, not a lot, but enough to make the salt and sand come out as well as the shovel. Last night the temp was bitterly cold, 2F. There is a forecast 'warmup' for Wed & Thurs, a brief reprieve, but we'll take it! We are tired of it already...

Yesterday we got put in yet another Christmas outfit, and got put in the dog-moblie...and we went to our favorite dog place...aka the pet shop. When we got there, there was a little fluff of a dog and he began barking LOUDLY at us, so loud in fact that we quickly got herded down another aisle, BOL! And petcretary sometimes says *we* have bad manners...but today they were left at home and only the good manners came with us, BOL! We greeted as lot of other doggies and pups, and we didn't raise our lips or grump at all! We know somethings about this time of the year and the being good thing, too...BOL!

We made pawprints on special seasonal cardstock; got a pup cup filled with some yummy freeze dried noms...and we got petted by a lot of other people. Even Dalton! Then we had to 'pose' for some pics...then we went back out into the snowy cold of 15F, and went back home. Oh and petcretary bought three big bags of our food so we are well stocked up for the winter yet to come! (The rest of our food and treats come from the Chewy place...)

When we got home, we were happy to be 'naked' again, though we still have our Christmas collars on...but we don't mind those as we are used to always wearing one...only these ones don't have our tags on them...good thing we DO have microchips ncase we might get out of our yard...

Anyways when we got home we were treated to a chewy bone, for our 'troubles', BOL!

Even though this time of the year is supposed to be very happy and full of good cheer, there are still moments of sadness around us...
So we had to say goodby to some friends.
Nicholas from The Feline Cafe
Molly; a dog well known to those of us who used to be at Dogster...she doesn't have a blog, but is HERE, on Facebook.
Please feel free to visit their families if you didn't already do so. It really helps those who are grieving to know others care and share in thier grief.
We are joining up with the Sunday Selfies. Week 591, WOWEE!! Thanks for keeping this going and going, Kitties, Blue!

After The Snow Selfies

Yup, we had a LOT of snow last weekend. We measured 7 inches, but our unbfurbro who lives about 30 miles to the west of us, had over a foot! Some areas had even more...our other unfurbro who lives about 90 minutes northeast of us had only about 4 inches. It was heavy and there was ice underneath it all. UGH.
Everything around here was cancelled for Sunday and some still on the Monday. But we survived!! Then it got really, really cold and the other night it was -1F, now that is way cold, usually we don't see those kinds of temps until into January.
Here are some snow pics...Brrr!
This was the scene early on Sunday Morning, and the wonderful plow drivers filled up our driveway even more than the snow itself did! And we got more snow on top of it all throughout the day...

We forged ourselves a wee path...the snow gave Dalton a cold belly...but Benji has way longer legs...he braved going into the yard itself...cause, well...SQUIRREL!

We don't think there will be any bathing for the forseeable future...
Of course before petcretary could use the roof rake, we had an icicle show...

The birds were swarming the feeders.

Thanks for clearing our steps and sidewalk...but sheesh, now it is way too cold so we had to wear our winter jackets.
Petcretary had to work on the Monday, but at least by then the driveway was cleared...it took 3 hours, and that was after the neighbour ploughed out the end where the county plow had filled it all in...When she got home we were so glad to see her back. Se was so tired before she did anything else she sat at her desk...Benji came and stared at her...he wanted his 'evening treat ritual', BOL! Dalton decided to climb into her desk chair and started to give her kisses...teehee!
Don't forget to give us our treats...

I love you SO much...

Last week we heard about the foster dog, Max from Life at Golden Pines having to go to the Rainbow Bridge. So we sent this memento to his foster mom to give her some comfort. Feel free to visit there to offer your comforting comments.
Max

We thank you, Kitties Blue for always hosting this weekly blog hop! We think soon there will be 600 weeks of these posts!! Amazing!
