In Absentia Sunday Selfies

 Well, Petcretary is still keeping us mostly silent, but hopefully we'll be back for real, soon...

Thanks for this yummy chew!

I got one of those chews, too, but I didn't like it so here I'm wagging my tail as I wait for a different treat.

Today's selfies were taken several weeks ago.
We have joined up with all the other Sunday Selfies at The Cat On My Head, where the Kitties Blue are the hosts of this fun blog hop.

Happy Gotcha Day, Dalton!

 Today it is 8 years since Dalton was 'gotted' and started his 'new' life with us, his loving forever furmily.

So we interrupt our 'silence' to wish our boy a very Happy Gotcha Day!

Flashbacks While We Wait For Things To Get Back To Normal...

Here is a repeat of the PSA which was in our blog last week....petcretary is still occupied with this...

PSA:

As of the coming week, I may not be around very much to visit, make posts or make mementos, (though I might put those into a 'to do later' folder...),  I won't have much access to the computer, let alone the time to do those things when I do get a moment. Will fill you in on the details later, but I truly do not know when that will be. All is well with us...except for the lawn mower, which gave up and we need a new one...the doggos are fine too. I am just going to be VERY busy with lots of other important things for a while, maybe up to several weeks, I am not sure when I will be back to 'normal' whatever that means, LOL! (Sadly we will be MIA for Talk like a Pirate Day...and probably even Dalton's Gotcha Day, though we might be able to get one prepped and ready to post.) We are not ignoring any of you when you have special days, I will try to get to those posts when I am able to find a moment here and there.

I will try to make some flashback posts for Selfie Sunday ahead of time, so there won't be an interruption there, teehee!

When we had a free moment we of course go to the blogs of our friends just to read them and 'keep up'. So we were saddened to read about dear Astrid and SissyCat both flying away to the Rainbow Bridge. When we get access to our photo editing program again we will get mementoes made for these precious kitties' families.

Here are some flashback selfies and ussies from about 3 years ago...

We have joined our flashbacks to the Sunday Selfies blog hop hosted by The Cat On My Head.

A PSA, An Ussie And Yet Another Angel

 PSA:

                                                                          ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Unfurbro the younger lent us his lawnmower for the time being until we can get a new one, the one we ordered is very different looking than the Honda one we had to put to rest...which was faithful for the over 10 years that we had it!
Our new mower will look like this one...
Here we are in some newly mowed grass, mowed with the borrowed mower...it did a good job on the by then tall, very thick, and dense grass that also sports a lot of hard stemmed grass and weeds...but it kept stalling on the even thicker turf nearer to our backwoods...so I raised it up a 1/2 inch, end of problem. We would have loved to get another mower like our son's, but Honda doesn't make gasoline powered mowers anymore, and with an acre of yard, we don't want to be taking breaks to  recharge batteries, and we would likely need four of them to do the whole yard. Blah...that would make the 3 or 31/2 hour a longer than ever job!
When we read today;'s post at The Cat Blogosphere, we were saddened to read about Maxwell, from A Tonk's Tale, we knew them from when we first started to blog about 9 1/2 years ago. Maxwell was a blue point Siamese and always reminded us of our blue pointed meezers, esp Angel Minko. So we made yet another memento  to honor his memory. You can read his family's post HERE.
We are joining up with the many other Sunday Selfies at The Cat On My Head. Thanks for hosting!
In Memory of Precious Angels
 After a respite of a few weeks, suddenly we have new angels to shed tears over...
Thomas, from Dash Kitten
Ryder from All Things Collie
You can visit their respective blogs to give your condolences by clicking on the caption under each memento, if you have not already done so...
We will join up with Feline Friday, Astrid came from a home filled with kitties, and of course; So did Thomas...We all just pretend that Ryder was a big fluffy kitty...after all the grief for these angels we can use a wee bit of humor...
Tailgate Pawrty!
 We got invited to go to a tailgate pawrty! It was at our local pet shop, and they have various events through the year to 'celebrate' seasonal things...Saturday it was football!
We are ready...
So let's GO!So we put on our 'Go Blue' (Michigan Wolverines), outfits and had a car ride to get there.
We met several other pups, and had a fun sniffing feast with a 7 month old Aussie/Corgi mix...she was there learning some agility things, but she came out of the 'gym' to meet and greet when her lesson was done. Sorry no pics...oops...her name was Pickles, BOL!
At the game set up there was a board set up to look like a football goal, and we let petcretary throw the 'footballs'...and she scored times two!!  No pics of that either, sheesh!
Then it was time to break out the treats...we got 'pup cups' with whipping cream and treats sprinkled on top.
I, Dalton, was very brave and enjoyed my pup cup right out of the manager's hand! Whoa, a sort of stranger to me and a tall man at that!
I would love more treats on my whipping cream please...
It was SO yummy!
I got another one, lick, lick...
We went to another part of the store and watched Pickles jumping over some hurdles and staying on the sit-stay platform.
Then Dalton got carried away and was doing a cheerleading dance on  petcretary's leg...BOL! As you can see, I pretended to not know him...teehee...
That was fun...
We want to go back there again real soon!
When we got home we obliged petcretary for selfies and an ussie...and soon she began to watch the U of M game on her phone...
Sadly our team lost...oh well, better going next week!
After we got home, the pawrents had lunch, and then went to get groceries. When they got to the store, there was a small pet carrier on top of the trunk on the car next to us,,,and two ladies were chatting...one of whom had a tiny kitten wrapped up in blankies...and when *she* took a second look, it was a teeny weenie Siamese kitten! OMD, she had an immediate attack of kitten fever! The little guy was found by the one lady who contacted a rescue group about taking it into their rescue's foster system as she herself was unable to care for it. (Hooray, she did the RIGHT thing!)
The funny thing was the rescue lady and petcretary recognized each other, but couldn't figure out how and where...well, it turns out she  is a foster-er from the same group that Dalton came from, ROAR!
So now next time she goes to one of their events she'll have to ask about the new wee meezer! She would love another meezer, but we think that she hesitates because both of us are very prey driven and it would take a lot of care and concern to teach us to not do that...though we were scared of Pipo when he was still with us...
In other news, petcretary hasn't quit her job, after being there 15 years, but she has 'semi-retired' which means that now she'll be able to pick which shift and days she wants to work...when there is a need to fill a space to keep the staff level optimum. She only needs to work once every 30 days to maintain this 'position', but may choose to work more often. She would have been working this weekend if she hadn't done this...now she doesn't have to work weekends at all, she feels so relaxed! Phew! So after the groceries were put away...what did she do? She went out with her chainsaw and cleaned up a small tree that the wind had pushed to the ground...at the front of the yard, and then she dragged the huge branches and three trunk hunks to the back of the property...and went inside to write this blog! Now she can mow the grass without hindrance...thankfully unfurbro-the-younger lent her his mower because ours 'died' and we need a new one...the repair job was estimated to be more than we paid for the thing years ago...oh, and she's gotten new brakes on her 2015 van, so now she can travel safely when she wants/needs to go anywhere...like taking the doggies to the petshop for pup cups!! BOL!
We are joining up with all the other Sunday selfies at The Cat On My Head. Click this caption to join up too! All animals are welcome to show their selfies! Ms Janet the Mom of Kitties Blue is recovering from surgery, so feel free to add your get well soon wishes over there, as well. Thanks for still having the hop you guys!!
