We got invited to go to a tailgate pawrty! It was at our local pet shop, and they have various events through the year to 'celebrate' seasonal things...Saturday it was football!
| We are ready... |
| So let's GO!So we put on our 'Go Blue' (Michigan Wolverines), outfits and had a car ride to get there. |
We met several other pups, and had a fun sniffing feast with a 7 month old Aussie/Corgi mix...she was there learning some agility things, but she came out of the 'gym' to meet and greet when her lesson was done. Sorry no pics...oops...her name was Pickles, BOL!
At the game set up there was a board set up to look like a football goal, and we let petcretary throw the 'footballs'...and she scored times two!! No pics of that either, sheesh!
Then it was time to break out the treats...we got 'pup cups' with whipping cream and treats sprinkled on top.
| I, Dalton, was very brave and enjoyed my pup cup right out of the manager's hand! Whoa, a sort of stranger to me and a tall man at that! |
| I would love more treats on my whipping cream please... |
| It was SO yummy! |
| I got another one, lick, lick... |
We went to another part of the store and watched Pickles jumping over some hurdles and staying on the sit-stay platform.
Then Dalton got carried away and was doing a cheerleading dance on petcretary's leg...BOL! As you can see, I pretended to not know him...teehee...
| That was fun... |
| We want to go back there again real soon! |
When we got home we obliged petcretary for selfies and an ussie...and soon she began to watch the U of M game on her phone...
| Sadly our team lost...oh well, better going next week! |
After we got home, the pawrents had lunch, and then went to get groceries. When they got to the store, there was a small pet carrier on top of the trunk on the car next to us,,,and two ladies were chatting...one of whom had a tiny kitten wrapped up in blankies...and when *she* took a second look, it was a teeny weenie Siamese kitten! OMD, she had an immediate attack of kitten fever! The little guy was found by the one lady who contacted a rescue group about taking it into their rescue's foster system as she herself was unable to care for it. (Hooray, she did the RIGHT thing!)
The funny thing was the rescue lady and petcretary recognized each other, but couldn't figure out how and where...well, it turns out she is a foster-er from the same group that Dalton came from, ROAR!
So now next time she goes to one of their events she'll have to ask about the new wee meezer! She would love another meezer, but we think that she hesitates because both of us are very prey driven and it would take a lot of care and concern to teach us to not do that...though we were scared of Pipo when he was still with us...
In other news, petcretary hasn't quit her job, after being there 15 years, but she has 'semi-retired' which means that now she'll be able to pick which shift and days she wants to work...when there is a need to fill a space to keep the staff level optimum. She only needs to work once every 30 days to maintain this 'position', but may choose to work more often. She would have been working this weekend if she hadn't done this...now she doesn't have to work weekends at all, she feels so relaxed! Phew! So after the groceries were put away...what did she do? She went out with her chainsaw and cleaned up a small tree that the wind had pushed to the ground...at the front of the yard, and then she dragged the huge branches and three trunk hunks to the back of the property...and went inside to write this blog! Now she can mow the grass without hindrance...thankfully unfurbro-the-younger lent her his mower because ours 'died' and we need a new one...the repair job was estimated to be more than we paid for the thing years ago...oh, and she's gotten new brakes on her 2015 van, so now she can travel safely when she wants/needs to go anywhere...like taking the doggies to the petshop for pup cups!! BOL!
