A Special Day!

We witnessed a special day for Petcretary and Pawppy...it was their 38th wedding anniversary on the 25th! And it was just as hot on Friday as it was all those years ago on that special Saturday. Thursday we had temps in the 90's and then in the evening we had some heavy thunderstorms, and in about an hour we had over 2 inches of rain...wow! So that the humidity was still like a jungle on Friday...added to the high 80's for the temp.

Our ubfurbros came and took our pawrents out to dinner, but shucks, no doggy bags came back with them.

Here are a couple of pics from 1987...leaving the Church, and enjoying a nice bench for a rest in a big park...

Petcretary's Dad took this picture, and this is a picture taken of *that* picture...sorry about the poor quality...

Here they are today...

A few days ago, the froggy you saw last week, came back in  different spot, hence the different color...they are able to change color from a dull greenish grey, to a deeper, brighter green. We don't know why froggy looks so bored, BOL!

Sometimes we need a good cuddle with our peeps...so here we are with petcretary, one hot evening...
I am leaning hard against her, and yes, she did give me good scritches a moment later...

I like to scramble up onto her, then she HAS to cuddle me, BOL! She calls it being rather pushy, Sheesh!

It's Time For Selfies Again, This Time With A Guest!

We don't have much news this week...but that's likely a good thing. No new digging projects were discovered...LOL!

The other day after a lot of hot dusty winds, and a lot of humidity, petcretary found this little tree frog waiting  for some supper to get near...but while he/she took a selfie, petcretary didn't see any tongue out bug catching. That would have fun to catch on the camera. After petcretary started to move to get a better picture,  froggy decided he wasn't appreciating the paparazzi and hopped out of sight!

Antyways, here are our selfies taken in low light without flash, under the desk and under the table after sunset...in other words, not the best images, BOL!

We've joined up with all the other selfies at The Cat On my Head who host this weekly feature! Thanks Kitties Blue!!

Selfie Sunday!

Its mid July and its summertime hot around here.

It hasn't been too exciting here this week, but we think that is likely a good thing.

Dalton continues to snoopervise petcretary's work in the yard, trying to give kissies when she bends over or squats down to pull out weeds, BOL!

Benji has decided to resume his excavating career, he hasn't done too much until this past few days, and then OMD! Well, he dug a big trench at least twice his length, and as deep as he is tall. Sheesh. Then the next day he began a new project in another spot, there are about 5 smaller holes...goodness only knows what compelled him to be so industrious, So petcretary got out the cayenne pepper and doused those spots to discourage further efforts in those places. He came inside and plopped himself down on the bathroom floor to cool off, since it is hot and humid here...and when he got up the white floor was completely brown...with mud that was stuck to his feet and face. Sheesh. Twice on the same day...petcretary had to use a flea comb to get rid of all the little mud balls stuck to him...of course he didn't care for that...a bath would have been easier, but there wasn't time for that...and then when *she* walked past the water dish, she had to blink...it was like a mud puddle! He must have used his jaws to help his digging exercises...good grief!

Not sure if Dalton had assisted in these projects, he does dig sometimes, but not anything as huge as Benji!

Well, here a couple of not muddy selfies. Petcretary didn't get any pics of the aforesaid digging projects...

What? You can see dirt on my schnooter??

I'm enjoying my collagen chewy stick...

Patriotic Selfies To End This Fourth Of July Weekend

Here we go again! We didn't hear too much noise on July fourth, but yesterday night it was in abundance, and a lot closer than the ones at the airport on the 4th. Benji is a bit clingy but not hiding, and Dalton seems to not be outwardly bothered, though he gets his usual CBD each evening.

During the week, one night they went out for a last bedtime business and OMD, What a hullabaloo they were making...so Petcretary ran outside with a flashlight, and they had a big opossum cornered under the cheery tree...actually under the shrubbery around it. However before she could corral Benji, he had that opossum by the neck and gave it a few good terrier shakes and then dropped it...sigh...to late to be rescued and released out of our yard...so Petcretary shooed us insu]ide and got the opossum picked up and gave it a funeral, all by herself, no attendees to mourn it other than herself. Sheesh, she likes those creatures, but its very hard to undo the hardwired instincts of terriers when they sense a prey...sigh...

Thankfully no more critters came into our dangerous terriertory! So now its one groundhog, one squirrel, one opossum...and who knows how many moles, voles and mice. *she* did shoo a garden snake to safer hunting grounds...(Last year they had a young racoon, and 2 possums...)We need a sign..,beware of dogs, enter at own risk. (We think these critters come in by way of the tree canopy, searching for all the yummy mulberries and other edibles; good thing we do not have a veggie garden!)

Tree cleanup continues, little by little...have not seen any poison ivy, but Petcretsry is beginnong to think she might just be over reactive to virginia creeper which is ubiquitous all over our yard, and she tries hard to keep it from climbing on all the trees in the wooded area of the yard. However the neighbors' trees are covered with them and also invasive (Non-native)-bittersweet, we think all those vines contributed to the demise of all the trees during that bad storm session in mid May.

OK, here are some more images from our patriotic photo session, thay are goind to be our selfies and ussies for this week's Sunday Selfies Blog hop!

We are hopping along with many others at The Cast On my Head who are the weekly hosts of this fun hop. Thanks for hosting, Kitties Blue!
