What A Week!

Its been quite a week here. We had cold weather, wind, rain and hot weather, (84F), and excitement. Saturday night (as we woof theses stories), we have a frost advisory! Brrr!

Yes indeed, excitement!

Opossum...thanks Google Images!
The other night  in a dark o'clock hour, petcretary heard us go through the doggy doors and then OMD, what a racket! We were barking, snarling and being very LOUD! So she turned on the lights to the back steps, and we were carrying on right there! So she went down the steps and saw that we were trying to go after something under a big planter box...she couldn't see but a longish tail...of that something. We were continuing to try and get that something, so she grabbed Benji by the tail and picked him up...and brought him inside, and of course I, Dalton followed her....then she shut us in, grabbed her flashlight and went to see what it was that we had cornered. A Possum! Poor thing was huddled there looking half scared to death.

She turned off the lights and went back inside...after about an hour, she still didn't let us out, but went back there to check on Mr/Ms Possum and it was gone. Phew. She likes possums cause they are peaceful critters, and they eat a lot of bad bugs, like ticks and such.

We were allowed back out, went to sniff at where the possum had been, and it not being there just went back inside to dream of it, BOL!

This is the only 'possum' we are allowed to wrassle and bite...
We had fun playing fence games with Rose, our girlfriend from next door...and on Thursday when it was so hot, we about got heat stroke trying to outrun her...Benji went indoors to have himself a drink and petcrtary found him splayed out on the floor...she kept an eye on him, but soon he was acting normal, so she felt better; and Benji avoided a bath in cold water. (She had to do that once with MJF when he had found a coon, and it was over 90F, and he literally collapsed in front of her...) Us terriers just won't give up or give in...even to our own detriment.

I, Dalton love to 'help' petcretary when she is squatting down to pull out weeds, right now she's yanking out as many of the bittercress she sees...its invading our yard big time...even though it is not toxic and is edible, she hates seeing it all over the place, like an infestation. She also pulls out any garlic mustard she sees, that is an invasive species...plus any young weeds that make 'stickons'. Anyways, I help her by getting into her face to beg for scritches and trying to wash the sweat off of her face,. I have no idea why she tries to stop me from these loving, helpful gestures, BOL!

Our tulips, well the one clump that survived the onslaught of hungry squirrels, bloomed and showed off their beauty for us!

Tulips

The weeping cherry tree is now well past it's prime...having had to deal with wind, rain and that hot weather...so now we have pinkish 'snow' and confetti everywhere!

Weeping Cherry Tree, well past its prime in bloom! That's our pawppy, by the way...

Now three of the four redbud trees that were planted in the fall are blooming. Maybe in a few years they'll give some light shade to our patio. (the fourth, planted in a different place, is alive but no  blooms...hopefully maybe next year.)

Redbud Tree ~ A Sapling

Redbud Blossoms - They look like little sweet peas, indeed this tree makes pods like peapods after blooming!

The violas are blooming here and there throughout our yard so pretty. And the bleeding heart plant is starting to get lots of buds. The periwinkle ground cover is in bloom, too.

We had our first of the year encounter with that noisy machine that makes our grass a lot shorter...that is a three hour job, but this time we didn't try to bark and bite at the wheels...we must be getting used to it after all the years we've seen/heard it!

And wonder of wonders, petcretary said it didn't cause any trouble with her wrist. She is almost at the end of her time off work, and has one more therapy session. And of course daily exercises to do.

OK, here we are for our selfies, and also an ussie!

Happy Easter With Selfies And Ussies!

Happy Easter!! Hallelujah! Christ is risen and the grave no longer holds us captive!

These first three bunny pictures are the ones we went to see the Easter Bunny at our local pet store...done by a professional photographer...the next ones are ours, and we think they are as good or maybe better, tee-hee. No matter, it was all done as a fundraiser for the shelter where Dalton was adopted from.

And there you have them all....the special Easter photo shoot and them some 'ordinary' at home bunny ears for Easter!
You know what?? We were glad when *she* let us out of those ears, BOL!! And then we got lots of yummy treats! Today our unfurbros are coming to celebrate with our pawrents, so m=we might now be around much...

And just in time for easter, our weeping Cherry tree decoded to burst forth in full blossom mode...

As did our single solitary Daffodil...we have no idea wheat happened to the others...maybe they were some critters sustenance, BOL!

We are hopping like the bunnies we were pretending to be to the Sunday Selfies at The Cat On my Head!

Preambling To Easter With Selfies

Here we are ready to go somewhere...We were harnessed and drove 87 miles to the petshop...well it felt like 87, because whenever we go anywhere, Dalton whines and carries on, almost as bad as a yowling cat in a carrier, *she* said, BOL! He stops when the doors open, teehee. We also saw that this big bag full of some white furry things came along for the ride. Hmmm....

Sheesh, Benji...
When I get in a car I am so excited I am squealing with eagerness...

But I'm the one along with petcretary who has to listen to it....for the WHOLE way!
Oh, dear...now we know what was in that bag...
Easter grass looks way better than the meesy background in the original!

Not sure why my bunny suit is pink??? But I do like this Easter Grass.

Then we were dragged towards this HUGE rabbit; Aaiiiii!
There are way better pics, when we decided this 'creature', was just a lady doing some silly pretending....and this is actually a fail from the ones petcretary took while the professional picture taker was doing her thing.
We'll show you way better ones next time when it is Easter for real!

Meanwhile petcretary made some Easter themed AI pics supposedly of 'us'....BOL! (Sorry there are so many...it was apparently hard to choose, and she even had already culled a lot of them BOL!!)

Lets go hopping, just like bunnies, to The Cat On  My Head where the Sunday Selfies are hosted.
