Last Day Of May!! Sunday Selfie Play-Day!

Wow, May has slipped by, and so very fast!
Today is the last day of this month, and the second full month of
lockdown mode...plus there were several days in March, too...and we are continuing in semi lockdown mode at least till June 12 or maybe even June 19. Sheesh, enough already. We want to be safe, but businesses need to be able to function, even if differently, else there will be unmitigated disaster for many of them.

Today is also Pentecost, celebrated by Christians around the world. It is also the first time in weeks that we will have an in-person Church service. We don't have a very large congregation, so its pretty easy to stay safe distances away from others, and there will be many other measures in place for safety and sanitary issues. But to have a real service, now that IS a blessing!

Now peeps just have to convince the gov. that she should allow hair and barber shops to reopen too...since petcretary works in health care, she knows it IS possible to be safe even with the closeness needed to get a haircut. We just need to get *her* on board, MOL/BOL!

On to other things...

The pups are not too worried about social distancing...so they arranged a play date...actually they do this any time they get outside! BOL!

Those hooligans started off by chasing that ball...then they decided a rough house game was more fun. Who'd a guessed?? BOL!

That ball as of today, now is in the trash, because Benji decided to work on it, and he had several of the 'spokes' chewed off. Then when *she* took it away he started on an already defuzzed tennis ball, and ripped it up to shreds. Hope he didn't eat any of it!

Ok, here is a recent Pipo up close picture...he was in the sun, so it made for a fun selfie.
I used to rough and tumble like that with Angel Minko sometimes...sheesh, I miss those days...but no way will I do that with those two hooligans, they are way too rough for my elderly bones...but I do whap them betimes to keep them in line. Never too elderly to do that!! MOL!

Time to HOP!! Join up with all the others at The Kitties Blue, the hosts of this fun weekly feature. We are grateful they keep hosting each week, so faithfully!

Memorial Day Weekend Thoughts And Selfies

USA residents are having a major holiday this weekend, though this year its is not being marked in the 'normal' way; no thanks to the Covid Virus Pandemic which has ravaged the USA ad so many other countries. Boo to Corona19 and all its horrible effects.

Monday, May25th, 2020 is Memorial Day, a day of thoughtful and grateful remembering those who have gone on before us, esp those who gave all to keep this country free and safe.
So while traditionally it marks the beginning of summer please take time to think of the freedoms we have and enjoy, even in spite of the current lockdown and restrictions imposed upon many of us.

We, being patriotic furry ones, obliged the peeps here with some selfies in red white and blue.

Even with catnip...Pipo was not in picture taking mode/mood...MOL!
This is a nicer one from a few years ago.

We wish all our pals and readers a safe and memorable Memorial Day.

I  can't seem to get on the WordPress site right now, so when/if I can I will place this blog there, too. Sorry if you prefer WordPress, but I may have to stop using it altogether.

Liebster Sunday Selfies

Oh MY!
We were nominated for a Liebster Award!
Teddy and his Mom, Miss Pam nominated us. Thanks so much!

Liebster award from Pam @ Two Spoiled Cats
Liebster award from Pam @ Two Spoiled Cats

There are even several variations of the badge but this is the one I received and am passing on to those of you who I nominate and choose to participate!
Rules to the Liebster Blogger awards:
1. Thank the blogger who nominated you and give them a big hug give them a link to the blog.
2. Answer the  questions given to you or at least most of them.
3. Share  facts about yourself.
4. Nominate several other bloggers.
5. Ask your nominees some good questions
6. Notify your nominees once you’ve uploaded your post.

The SIX Questions I got, for ME to Answer were:

1.   Do you think there is life on other planets?   Why or Why Not?
Well, that becomes a theological question…I believe God created the earth and all that is in it, and He made the Heavens and all the universe. If He made life on those things, only He knows for sure…but the explorations we have done as mere men have not revealed life…at least as we know it.

2.   What is your VERY FAVORITE meal either to cook yourself OR to order in a restaurant?
Salmon!! Grilled or baked with various toppings. ( I have a whole collection of yummy Salmon recipes...I do wish it wasn't so pricey, though...else we might have it more often!)

3.   If you could afford ANY car in the world – what would it be?
Now that is tough…so many to choose from…at least one that holds all our family and furry ones too…and the luggage we need to travel. Car???  Maybe a large RV would be better! I am not fussy about vehicles, so maybe nice fully equipped Cadillac? Wait, do they make RV's?? LOL!

4.  Are you superstitious?
No way!
I believe in Providence. Nothing happens by chance, even though it may seem that way...and the answers as to why may not ever be revealed to us...but...well, there truly is a reason for everything.

5.   Do you prefer early mornings or late nights or both?
I used to be an earlybird  lady, but my work schedule turned me into a night owl.

6.   What is your favorite type of music?
Classical, namely from the period from about 1650 to 1850, or so.

Now I know that a whole lot of bloggers have stopped accepting awards – in fact it had been a very long time (years) since we even saw blogging awards making the rounds.   But I’ll pass the award on whomever would LIKE to participate, so  please do.    I think most people already have the Liebster but like me – if you want another one (!) and answer the questions – then you can have a matched pair of awards!!!
I love to break/make my own rules...or bend them to fit my style, so in order for me to properly participate, I will let you just make up your own questions to answer and you can nominate (or not), as many others as you wish:)
(Or you can answer the same questions as I did...)

I hope that some of our pals that didn't get nominated by others recently will take this one from us...we are so glad we have you all as our pals and we think you are all wonderful to be Liebster! Which means loved and favorite...from the German.

OK, since this is Selfie Sunday, here is a guest set...us furs here  are giving petcretary some slack...and she does take pictures of other things besides us, MOL/BOL!

This little dude comes by a lot to steal/help himself to the seeds that fall on the ground under the feeders. He/she gave up a long time ago trying to access the feeders themselves, because they are squirrel proof! Having just said that, petcretary was refilling the one above this little rascal. She got distracted and left it open on the ground for a good long while. When she remembered about it, the little red rodent was inside the feeder. He/she must have thought he had scored the seed lottery!!
Sorry but there are no pictures of THAT! Her camera was in the house...
I will come down when its safe...

I am a wee bit shy...

So I am staying behind the fence...which keeps those silly dogs out...sort of...Yummy seeds here to nosh on, but I will pause for a selfie!

Recently we showed you our weeping cherry tree, starting to bloom. Well about a week or so ago it was in full 'glory', but now its all done, thanks to wind and heavy rainfall...and the green leaves are out now. We will have to wait for another springtime for the next showing:)
So here are a couple of images of the pretty blossoms.

Hopefully the furry selfies will be back next time:)

Happy Mother's Day!

We decided that since petcretary works hard to keep us happy and healthy and that she also works at her job, we would cut her slack and let her have a break from posting new images today for Mother's Day...We love her a lot...and she needs to take a day off, even if she is working with all her little old ladies and gents today...she says they are all kind of like her family you know?! And the ladies there are not able to have visitors, since we are still dealing with this evil and naughty virus mess...so she feels honored to be a surrogate daughter/granddaughter to them.
So that's why we are just posting our flashback selfies in a recycled card, MOL/BOL!!!

Happy Mother's Day!!

You too can hop along in this special Mother's Day edition of The Sunday Selfies! This weekly feature is always hosted by the Kitties Blue ~ Thank you!

EASY Rosemary Paleo Pumpkin Bread

  • Prep Time: 15 minutes
  • Cook Time: 1 hr
  • Total Time: 1 hour 15 minutes
  • Yield: 10-14 1x

Description
Paleo pumpkin bread with rosemary is an easy paleo bread recipe made with pumpkin puree and fresh rosemary. High in antioxidants and Vitamin A, this gluten free quick bread recipe is delicious served with chili or stew!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup pumpkin puree (NOT Pie filling)
  • 1/2 to 2/3 cup avocado oil or olive oil (the more oil, the more dense, moisture).
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 tsp apple cider vinegar (or lemon juice will work, just an acid)
  • 3 cup almond flour
  • 1/2 cup sifted coconut flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar of choice (I use raw sugar or coconut sugar)
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp all spice
  • 1 tsp sea salt
  • pinch of black pepper
  • 2 rosemary sprigs with stems removed
  • 1/4 cup roasted pumpkin seeds (divided)(Pepitas)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325F. Line a 9×5 bread pan or 8×4 loaf pan (see notes) with parchment paper. You can also use 2 mini loaf pans. . Grease or oil the side of the pans.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine your pumpkin, eggs, oil, and vinegar. Beat gently or mix with spoon until smooth.
  3. In another bowl, sift together your dry ingredients (flours through seasonings and sea salt). Keep the pumpkin seeds and rosemary sprigs aside.
  4. Combine the flour mix with the pumpkin/egg mix into one bowl. Beat or gently mix until batter is smooth. It might be a little grainy due to coconut flour.
  5. Fold in your rosemary sprigs and 2 to 3 tbsp pumpkin seeds. Keep remaining for topping.
  6. Pour batter into lined 9×9 pan (or 2 smaller mini loaf pans).
  7. Sprinkle pumpkin seeds and extra rosemary on top.
  8. Bake for 50 minutes to 1 hr. (Check bread after 45 minutes to see progress)
  9. Cover with foil and bake for another 10 minutes or until golden brown and center comes our clean with poked with knife or toothpick.
  10. Remove and let cool. Once cooled you can remove the bread from the pan and slice or store for later.
  11. Freezer instructions. Once cooled, wrap bread in foil or wax paper and freeze for up to 6 months.

Notes

If you are using a 8×4″ loaf pan, check the middle for doneness at 40 to 45 minutes since it will be in a smaller pan.

This has a lovely rosemary taste. Feel free to reduce the “herbed” taste by using one sprig or two. You also use thyme or mix. the herbs

Its May!! Selfies To Celebrate!

It was May Day yesterday! And the sun celebrated so I basked in it:)
But...well, you know...that little black box appeared in front of me...sigh...

I am enjoying some glorious long awaited sun puddles and you dare to ask me for a selfie?

Well, if it makes you happy...but why did you cut off my ears?
So now here I am with my eyes wide open, but I won't look at you...cause you did cut off my ears...and the Critter Channel is on right now!
Sun is so bright I have to squint!

I found a nice semi shady spot...

Are you done yet, petcretary? We want to go and plkay!

A thought on all the hoarding of things lately...
And we can add all kinds of meat now, too...sheesh!

We had to say goodbye to yet another furry one...

Missy, from Marg's Animals

BellaDharma's LadyMew Sherri Ellen, still needs our purrs and prayers.
Still Missing...purrs for him to be found safe and back home
