Sleepy Sunday Selfies and Noisy Disturbances

Today we are showing something a bit diffurent than usual...but recently our road was the object of an assault of large vehicles, noisy and stinky as well...we are glad and thankfur this project is done! Because it disturbed our peace...

One day we woke up to this:

Those dudes were measuring things about our road...and they were butchering all the trees and shrubs close to the road as well.Yikes!

Grrr!  You are too noisy!

Scraping...

Scraping and brushinhg...

Hauling off the road...

Soon we won't have a road left...

Dumping the road...

And haul it away.

Then they started stealing all the backtop and brushing off the rest of it, OMD!

I had the big job of snoopervising them all.
The petcretary went fur a stroll and she saw this parked by the cemetery...they better not touch that.
Phew! A few days later they came with stinky black stuff and started dumping this on our bare sad looking road.

They used dozens of trucks like this...all of them loaded with that hot smelly black stuff. The petcretary had to stop her lawn chores and get out of their way, BOL!

Pawppy even came by to check it out...look where he had to park his car!
Pawppy chatting with a crew member...he is an engineer, so he had to make sure our section at least, was done properly:)

Look at that steam!

How are we going to get out of our driveway, that is a big bump...
Oh, they are stomping it down...
And smoothing it out.

Look, Ironingboardman is at work!!

In all these pictures the trees and grass are nice and green, but now its all brown, crunchy and oh so furry dry...parched and in dire need of rain we are...

Now this is a real ironing board man, BOL!
He's got ironing boards on his boots:)
One more good look at the ironing board man at work...
Ahhh...
Now we can sleep...
Peacefully, again.
We might as well nap anyways, it is supposed to rain...and you know, we will be happy if it does, at least we know our peeps will:) Have a great week!!

    1. At least they left our yard alone...and they did not cut into our newish concrete driveway...they did cut a lot of other ones though....sigh...they would have had to deal with a lot of steel rebars and mesh under that concrete...think broken saws...our pawppy being an engineer treated our driveway like a road project when it was put in, tee-hee! And then that dog walked ovfur it when it wasn't dry yet, remember that?? OMC!

    1. Oh, yes!! We had kind of furgotten about mentioning that, thanks!! You are furry observant...better than the petcretary who was putting this together after midnight last night after a busy evening shift...
We are so glad its done, and the road is smooth once again...the vehicles when driving ovfur it befur, were making a lot of noise going ovfur all the bumps and potholes, but now its nice and quiet out there, except when a motorcycle zooms by.

    1. It took them about two weeks after the 'prep of cutting trees and making driveways ready to accept asphalt.
Now all they need to do is put down the lane markings. We are glad its all done too, it sure looks better than our old road!

    1. We have no idea why they needed to cut down so many trees, it was horrid. Huge old oaks and others suffered the same fate. Hisses and Grrr.

We wish they would plant some new ones to replace the others...

    1. I am a tough snoopervisor!
That stuff still smells a bit even though its been done fur quite a while already...(the petcretary just didn't have the time to sort through all the pictures and make a good post...)
I stopped barking like a crazed pup after a few days...but I paid them lots of snoopervisory rounds:)
Maybe they did get nervous after pawppy came and talked with them...cause he is a civil engineer and that is his line of work...OMD!

  20. Mr Jack Freckles what a wonderful blow by blow narrative of the road work. Don't you just hate when those pieces get up in your tire wells and clatter. Or driving on the rough road before they lay new asphalt. And the stink! Why smelling another dogs butt is better than smelling asphalt.
    Thanks for being a friend

    1. We were getting so fed up with all the potholes and the patchworkquilt of all the patches...which kept breaking up and being far worse the second or third time around. UGH!
The rough unpaved road was certainly a bumpy noisy ride even inside a nice van:)
Now its wonderfur and smooth! And yes, MJF would much rather sniff a butt of a pup or a kitty...OMD!
